check my last couple of posts. no matter the metric. whether its the number of players drafted, number of players on NFL rosters, number of players in the top 100. no matter the metric. SEC DOMINATES. not just leads but dominates.

it doesn't matter what the metric is. it could be top 10 recruiting classes, BCS national titles, players drafted into the NFL, etc. the SEC dominates.

there is not one single metric measuring college football that does not show the SEC is the best (by a wide margin in most cases).

men lie. women lie. numbers don't.

:why:
Just because they on the roster don't mean they contributing or they're not playing up to their standards. Ben Tate just got cut by the Browns.

Chairman straight up said that a&m was still a quality win for miss st :deadmanny:

A&M will have as many dudes drafted into the NFL as Oregon this year. that team is super talented. plus they've had top 5 recruiting classes the last couple of years.

i'd take their roster over anyone in the big 10 or pac 12.

And this has nothing to do with this year's playoff.....

Anyways. College football as far back as I could remember, if you were number 1,you stayed there no matter what until you lost.

But yet they put a team that lost to ole miss, and barely got past Arkansas and lsu. They put a team in front of them who lost to Auburn, which lost 3 games.

Makes no sense. Call me biased but Florida state should still be #1. But I'm not that mad about it, Bama has another loss coming, and Oregon might struggle with osu.

It's just public perception within the media that the SEC is head & shoulders above every other conference. "They could field NFL teams" all that nonsense. I think people who within the media feel if they go against the grain with the SEC they will be discredited. But their conference didn't win the National Championship last year.

And no matter how much I'll love it or how much the media will hate it at some point the SEC will not be the best conference in the nation. It might not be next year but eventually if not already other conferences will surpass the SEC.

not likely to happen unless black folks decide to move outta the south in large numbers. the reason the SEC dominates is largely becausee they have the geographic advantage. the best athletes are in the south because most black folks live in the south. highly unlikely all those great athletes coming outta louisiana or florida decide to leave the south and head up to ohio state or oregon. some might but not enough to shift the balance of power.

best athletes come from the black community. and the black community still heavily resides in the south. until that changes, the SEC will ALWAYS dominate college football.

A&M gave 59 to Bama and scored 0 that's a quality team but TCU giving up 61 and scoring 58 is looked down upon. Oh that SEC bias. :mindblown:

Honestly....the ONLY thing that the SEC is head and shoulders above other conferences, and even this is starting to change, is being better on the OL and DL and POSSIBLY in the secondary. Other than that, it's not head and shoulders better at other positions.

:dwillhuh: but those are the most important positions in football outside of QB. and in some cases more important than QB since thats 10 dudes vs. just one. a team with a dominant o-line and d-line will always be good. dominating the trenches is what wins football games both in college and the nfl.

It was game 1
Wisky didn't even have their starting qb but a converted wr at the helm

I can tell you don't watch these games. If you did, you'd know that Melvin Gordon didn't even get rushes in the second half (confusingly so, but still). Melvin killed LSU in the first half and Wisky was beating them comfortably until they took Melvin out in the second half.

I could make excuses for every loss an SEC team suffers but that still doesn't change the fact they lost. Wisconsin and LSU played this year and LSU won. PERIOD.

that LSU squad is now at the cellar of the SEC West and Wisconsin is looking to play in the big 10 title game against Ohio State.

thats 5 SEC schools in the top 12. no other conference has more than 2.

and don't forget the NFL Draft. http://www.si.com/nfl/2013/04/29/sec-nfl-draft
:camby: Congratulations, the SEC are basically european basketball players...everybody keeps picking them but the majority of them flame out.

Im talking actual legitimate NFL players...starters and stars...:umad:Peyton, Lacy, Green and Peterson i'll give you and even then Peterson, Lacy and Green are hit and miss. How those SEC players working for the Jets, Bills, Bengals, Bears, Raiders, etc :mjlol:

Give me good teams...Patriots, Packers, Cowboys, Broncos, Colts, 49ers, Steelers, Eagles, Seahawks...you see a lot more Miami, FSU, USC, Virginia Tech, Texas, Ohio State than LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc

Rodgers (Pac 12), Luck (Pac 12), Brady (Big Ten), Brees (Big Ten), Dez (Big 12), Demarco Murray (Big 12), Lesean McCoy (Big East), Gronkowski (Pac 12), Calvin Johnson (ACC), Earl Thomas (Big 12), Richard Sherman (Pac 12), Marshawn Lynch (Pac 12), JJ Watt (Big Ten), Kuechly (ACC)

check my other post on the NFL top 100 list from last year. 20 dudes outta the top 100 came from the SEC. most of any conference by a decent margin. they even mentioned it during the telecast if you watch that show on NFL Network.

to me that is a pretty good measure that the SEC dominates even at the top of the NFL. does this mean every great NFL player is from the SEC? no. does it mean every SEC player goes on to dominate the NFL? no. BUT if you look at the top players in the league, you'll find more players coming from SEC schools than any other conference. THAT IS A FACT. get over it.

true. but it influences the perception football people have of the SEC. if the SEC continually dominates the national title game, puts the most players in the league, recruits the top players from high school. they ya'll shouldn't be surprised if they're given the benefit of the doubt.

no one questions alabama barely beating arkansas or lsu because of their track record. they've won the most national titles in recent memory, recruited the top kids from high school, and put the most dudes into the nfl.

its rather simple to see why the comittee has no problem putting them at #1 even if they barely beat Arkansas.

I've never in my life of watching college football even heard of this "game control" metric. Last year would have been the perfect time to dust off this BS metric when Auburn was out there winning games on tipped hail marry's and failed fg returns....but instead....we got the "never count them out....team of destiny" narrative. For some reason those "soft factors" that meant so much as late as this January, no longer matters...

nikka I'mma FSU fan. I like Jameis. I like their squad. I personally think they should be #2 behind Alabama and think they can beat anyone in the country except Alabama.

also schools like FSU/Miami/Clemson are de facto SEC schools IMO. sure they are not in the SEC, but they still are southern schools that recruit from the same talent pool as the SEC schools and have the same geographic advantage.

the problem for FSU/Miami/Clemson is that not every school in their conference is in the deep south, so they don't have the benefit that almost every school in the SEC gets when it comes to recruiting.

like I said earlier. until black folks decide to move outta the south in large numbers and relocate to other parts of the country, the SEC (and schools in the south like FSU and Miami) will ALWAYS dominate.
