they lost by 5 against the #1 team with a freshman taking the game over... and then got dominated by #3 in the statistically hardest place to play at since 2013

You obviously did not watch that game. It was 31-7 going into the 4th when MSU let their foot off the gas.

What makes college football "special" is the gravity of losses. It's really the only sport like it. A playoff where teams with losses are given a chance to redeem themselves over undefeated teams (if there are any) demystifies college football. shyt was already the GOAT sport. Now, politics are going to play a even bigger role in a sport that was basically decided on the field of play before. It also takes away from the gravity of losses (looks at Ole Miss), which is ultimately what make college football as compelling as it is.
