I have zero charisma.

I've said before that if I could add one element to my skill set that would have the greatest impact on my life, this would be it. I always end up getting placed into leadership positions within organizations, but I've never had the kind of external inspirational power to motivate people in a meaningful way outside the organization. I can get my colleagues to follow my lead, but I'm never going to reach the masses.

It's especially apparent when I do public speaking. At times I've been slightly in demand as a public speaker, people ask for me, they seem to like me. Everyone likes the content but no one ever changes the direction of their life because of a speech I gave (so far as I know). The only people I seem to impact that way are people who know me on a daily basis. Whereas people with serious charisma can give a bullshyt speech where they don't say much of anything, yet all of the sudden folk are devoted to them just because of the way they say it.

This means you have to keep the humor up at all times to keep your girl. Slip up once and she leaving you.
Not at all.

We still have our serious/tense moments.

It's just a quality that made me stand out when we started getting together.

That has nothing to do with charisma. Jordan Peterson gives 3 hour rambling talks with paragraphs of asides that make no sense, yet he has tremendous charisma and a massive following.

Thinking someone's speech tendencies are going to match their text tendencies is silly, and even my longest posts are nothing compared to a short talk. You can trust that I have a low opinion of people who talk too long or fail to make their points clearly and succinctly, and I'm always hunting for memorable anecdotes to anchor any point I'm making. That's definitely not the issue.

I've taught middle school kids and illiterate inmates. I don't have any difficulty shaping the material to the audience, and honestly most people usually make the opposite error and underestimate what people are capable of understanding. Boring someone by going on too long is a much bigger issue than speaking with too much complexity, so long as you know the right way to break the concept down. And honestly, 90% of the messages I want to get across are simple as fukk anyway.

Watching a charismatic person doesn't make one charismatic.

Thank you for.. I find that with intelligence, you try and overexplain things to people, for fear they're not going to grasp it. Ends up that people tune out and still don't grasp it, cause the talking portion is too long

I'm going to start sizing my shyt down to short, concise points

How I see it is that everyone will not be charismatic. I think it is cool to possess that type of spirit, but I feel more comfortable being congenial.

Connecting with a small group of people or being amicable with most people suits me fine.

I want people to just be themselves @ the end of the day.
