Nick Fury was turned black because of the Ultimate comics though......I wonder if there was any backlash then though:ohhh:

they actually created Ultimate Nick Fury to look like Sam Jackson....payed him for his likeness and everything....He is playing his own comic book self in the Marvel movies.

update

A rumor began to circulate two weeks ago that Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan was being eyed for the role of Johnny Storm, AKA The Human Torch, in Josh Trank's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The internet almost caught on fire, and the man himself won't say whether there is truth to it this nugget of information or not.

"That's not real yet," Jordan said in an interview with The Huffington Post.

"Everyone knows we're good friends. It's something that if it happened I would be ecstatic," Jordan also told USA Today "giving a big wink." "I'd love to be a part of it."

Jordan's enthusiasm to challenge conventional norms appears to be another indicator that he's up for the role.

"Things change and time goes on, it's 2013 right now," he said. "The characteristics of the Human Torch are his name is Johnny Storm, he's charismatic, and he's a playboy. That's it. You know what I'm saying? That's all there is."

Details are currently few on the project all around outside of Trank directing from script by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Green and Jeremy Slater. Another casting rumor for the film includes "Girls" star Allison Williams in an unspecified role that many believe to be Sue Storm, AKA The Invisible Woman. Production is slated to begin soon, however, with the film targeting a March 6, 2015 release.

Normally I don't mind race swap if its a white character becoming another race but I can't see Johnny Storm and Sue Storm as anything but white.

Why does everyone always assume that because Johnny is Black Sue would also have to be black?

Having them being adopted siblings is even more :beli: to me.

Honestly doesn't matter to me as long as they get the family dynamic down. With certain characters their race isn't that important to their character. The members of the Fantastic Four fit that mold.

Having Johnny and Sue not blood related lessens the sibling bond the two should have, imo.
I just want to see a faithful Fantastic Four adaptation. The 60s cartoon is the only good they had outside of comics they ever had.

It doesn't. Family is about WAY more than just blood relations.

The 60's cartoon was the one that didn't feature Torch wasn't it? That's the one that featured Herbie in place of Johnny.

The 90's cartoon was pretty decent.

IMO there are bigger things to worry about than the race of the characters. The race of Jessica Alba and Kerry Washington weren't even in the top 50 reasons the first films sucked.

As long as it captures the spirit of the franchise and doesn't straight up b*stardize any characters I'll be fine with it.

Might be 50s cartoon then. The one with the jazz music.
The bond I have with my siblings is something I really can't put into words, but it is definitely a strong bond that I haven't felt with anyone else.

EDIT
nope it was the 60s

Man I don't care what race the people are who play the FF4...I just want a movie that does not have the worst actress ever in it...just literally watching Jessica Alba act makes her less attractive to me...and has a very good authentic FF 4 feel to it...which both of the first movies did not have...
