@The HONORABLE SKJ you know i fux with ya, you my man. Always droppin knowledge.

Maybe ive asked you this before, but regarding Jimmy Iovine;

I know you spit alot of history about Lyors vulture ways & it might be factual. But why is it that nobody in the game go at Iovine when hes grimey as fukk too? Does it speak on his power or is it just becuz hes a "genuine" business man :mjlol:

thier has been numerous instances of artists having horrible business dealings with Iovine......from Pharrell to Diddy...

but it's just chalked as "standard industry practices"

where as with LYOR he will let you know this can also be construed as PERSONAL and custom crafted FOR YOU :ufdup:

i seen that first hand when i came across the WEA contract that was offered to the imprint/production firm i had worked for......

it was DEGRADING...u didn't even need a lawyer to see the condescending shyt Lyor and Todd Moscowitz was advocating.....

they really thought these n1ggas was dumb..and that's how lyor approaches it......they desperate and dumb :manny:

Like these 360 deals which is tailor made for each artist... so it becomes more bitter even after both parties mutually split

Puff had to BEG lyor to keep the bad boy name when he wanted to leave warner as a distributor....

"Lyor [Cohen, WMG Chairman] and Julie were nice enough to let me get my [Bad Boy] name. I was able to take the name over to Interscope and to still in stay in business with them."

I aint gon lie...I thought you was just some ithinkiknowitall type of nikka but the more i see your posts you be dropping gems upon gems (just did my googles on buddy you name dropped earlier in the thread smh) so lemme humble myself lol

Why do you think there aren't more black ceos these days as oppose to back in the day? Sure we got more artists trying to take ownership and smarten up but there are no Irv Gottis, Dame Dash's, D's, Suges no more in the game...in your opinion why is that?

its a case of timing......when Dash, Gotti and Suge and JPrince came in....it was a familiar territory the Mafia still had it's tentacles in the industry....even Russell Simmons had to deal with them based on his relationship with Mob capo Michael Franceze.....

but now it's a very CORPORATE POLITICALLY CORRECT ERA.......so with globalsiim taking over the economy and the music industry...all three majors are foriegn owned now....Warner Bros. the last "american major" is now owned by Russians...

they kinda cleaned shop and went with Bankers and internet Technocrats as opposed to street guys......the old guard like Tommy Mottola, Doug Morris and Irving Azoff were use to rubbing shoulders with street guys jewish, italian and black...

but now these new foriegn banker types such as Goldman Sachs and Terra Firma and even Tech guys like Google are calling the shots in the industry now....so those days of a "street boss" getting in the game on a major label level is OVER..unless he conforms to the business status quo in the entertainment field...

What keeps you motivated to come through and drop gems?

the lack of journalisim in the rap game....watching my family member's indy music venture crash and burn because of politics and misguided decisions....the folding of my former magazine i worked for as creative editor...and the need for more emphasis on business related topics as opposed to just performances and songs.....because it's the MUSIC BUSINESS... :manny:
