Alright brehs, HL needs to relax. Matter of fact, HL needs a vacation.

Traveling is one of the best ways to clear your mind, learn about world cultures (or even just other cultures within your own country) and gain a wordly perspective on things.

The thread is simple. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do so I want to hear about where you've traveled, where you want to travel, any upcoming trips you got and tips for balling on a budget overseas.

I'll start with a couple of places I've been, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask:

1. Barcelona, Spain. Major global city so it's a clash of cultures. It's Spain, but more globalized and slightly independent Catalonia. One of the few major European cities on a legit beach. (The beach is of course, clothing optional). Always night clubs with top EDM artists, Ibiza is just a boat ride away. Lots of architecture and Mediterranean cuisine. Highly recommended stop for 3 or so days if you're hoping around Europe.

Google Earth La Ramba, Barcelona, Spain example:

2. Honolulu, HI. Statistically speaking it's the most isolated city in the world of its size. Heavy Asian influence, it's about as close as you can get to Asia without going all the way over there. Modern Honolulu has all the amenities of a medium to large city, but what really makes Hawaii is nature, hiking, water sports and other natural amenities. You feel like you reached the edge of the world when you're there.

Google Earth Kauai, HI example:

Good thread

Traveling is a great way to open your mind. I love exploring new places. I actually enjoy traveling around the US and think theres a lot to see here. I'm from the Boston area so I've been all over the northeast all the way down to PA, FL, all of CA south of Sacramento, Colorado and did a road trip from Boston to Denver stopping in Chicago and St Louis. If you're still young and you have free time, I'd highly recommend a cross country road trip.

Outside of the US, I've been to Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Israel.

Canada:
Niagara Falls is a dope sight to see. I went up on the Canadian side and theres an observation tower with a deck. Its a crazy view.

Quebec was cool. Its a very European city with its design, culture, and architecture. Mostly a sight-seeing city.

Montreal is my shyt. Started coming up here with fam when I was young and continued throughout high school and college cause the drinking age was only 18. About a 6 hour ride come for me and this place is a world class city. I'd compare it to NYC and if you come at the right time, theres some New Orleans funk mixed in. Montreal is an incredible city and easily my favorite Canadian city I've been to so far. Tons of bars, shopping, whatever else you wanna do. All the people are down to earth and friendly af.

Argentina was cool af. I went to Iguazu Falls which is a waterfall on the Brazil/Paraguay border. Theres something like 1,000 waterfalls there and its in the heart of the Amazon. Crazy animals like 2ft wide spiders and whatever else you could imagine in the rainforest. The highlight was Buenos Aires. I'd say BA is a step down from being a world class city but it does have everything. European architecture. All the food down there is incredible. All grass fed local beef. Some of the best steak I've ever had. The girls are :why:. Germans, Italians and Spaniards migrated to Argentina after the war and mixed with the locals and the outcome is some out of this world shyt. I liked BA and would go back. Next time I'd check out Mendoza (wine country) and Patagonia.

Mexico I've been to Cancun and Cabo San Lucas. Both are party/beach destinations. I enjoyed both. I'd say Cancun has more things to do and more people partying but I'd go to Cabo 10 times out of 10 over Cancun. Cabo has the more relaxed west coast vibe and Baja California is beautiful. Nightlife is crazy in both cities.

Last place I visited outside of the US was Israel. I'm not a religious person at all but I felt a certain type of way there. So much history on that land both good and bad. Its mind boggling seeing some of the historic sites and knowing people were there 2000-4000 years ago. Outside of the holy places like Jerusalem and Mossada, I was in Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is the fukking shyt. Idgaf if you hate Israel, you would enjoy this city. Its basically Miami/South Beach. People partying through the night into the morning. Beaches and warm weather sitting right there on the Mediterranean. The girls are drop dead gorgeous and some of the complexions are out of this world. The city really has a lot to offer and most of the population is young and progressive.

Haven't been traveling the past year but I'm hoping to do some traveling the next two years. I'd like to check out Costa Rica/Nicaragua, Colombia, and then do a European tour and check out Portugal, Spain, Britain, Italy, and the Netherlands.

I've always thought this too. People in my classes seem to be infatuated with Europe like it's somehow a superior travel destination but the amount of variety in the U.S. is staggering. Only here will you get the diversity of cities as NYC, DC, Miami, Las Vegas, New Orleans, LA, San Fran, Honolulu etc. and that's just cities, not even considering other types of places worth checking out too.

I'm going back to Thailand(the island region) next month. I've been waiting to return for three years now. I've been a lot of places....no where else is as peaceful, affordable, and beautiful. it's what you'd imagine Hawaii looked like before its got overran by CACs and development. crystal clear water with living coral reefs......swimming/snorkeling with thousands of colorful tropical fish.....$3 meals......$8 hour long massages.....BUCKETS of liquor for $20:banderas:

Every beach destination I've been to since Thailand doesn't compare. Samui is the second largest island in Thailand....after Phuket. Samui is pretty relaxed...only developed in one area of the island. The rest of the island is deserted beaches, jungles, mountains, etc.
