Cacs always gotta take things too far....And sometimes they make a good point to that allegory.......other times not so much
thisIt's due to how the powers came about. The general public fears mutants because they are a genetic offshoot of regular people and could lead to their enslavement or extinction. In the comics they always compared normal human and mutants to Neanderthals and modern man. One groups expansion led to the extinction of the other.
Meanwhile other non-mutant heroes didn't get the same amount of hate because they weren't a group increasing in number to the point where they would Poe a threat to resources and most of them got their powers in freak accidents or through intentional experimentation. This meant that in theory ANY normal human under the right circumstances could get accidental or scientifically granted powers but only the special few were born mutants. It's like people having love for self-made millionaires but hating trust fund kids.

I wish they would portray mutants or anybody that got super powers using it for personal gain. Not committing crimes but using it to cheat the system. Like someone with super agility going into the NFL or NBA and straight dominating. Someone with "luck" as their power using their power to become rich through gambling. If you really think about it if people with powers really existed in the real world 95% of them would use their power to get rich, get p*ssy, etc. fukk trying to save the world, fight crime, etcIf mutants existed i doubt we would even know it because all of them will cheat code thru life. Telepaths in every field would be top CEOs,lawyers, quaterbacks, point guards and fukkin psychic mediums etc while someone like storm would be a meteorologist
