Easier said than done itll be dog eat dog with the bourgeosie trying to cup the balls of these foreign businessmen.

Private ownership of these amenities will ensure the culture isnt diluted like they did in the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and to an extent Jamaica. This also helps Haiti establish a funnel if you will, that will keep every dollar earned off tourism in Haiti, in Haiti.

Imagine if this actually happens:banderas:

Haiti will finally rise

Haiti's tourism industry being a success is a gamble anyhow since it has to compete with other caribbean nations. It's going to have to distinguish itself somehow.

They're just doing the same thing the US has done in establishing a global hegemony but by peaceful means without the longterm espionage and installing dictators.

@Chesirecatdaddy didnt you say you were investing in Haiti? Whats going on with that?
well our shyt came to a standstill for 4 years but recently shyt started moving again...so there should be developments soon. My only issue is that because of this we shifted a lot of our focus on Africa, so now things are kinda depending on that... but I have faith shyt will go well... our focus is on healthcare...I also fukk with a company who's focus is on haitian telecom.

They're planning on building a new downtown in PAP and by the coast ... with midrises and etc... shyt is gonna be beautiful.

The island is going to transform in the next 20 years... lots of it is going to look like labadee... and there's going to be a lot of job creation... I really gotta give it up to Martelly, I had a lot of doubts at first but he's getting the ship running I hope the momentum builds up.

haiti is little being carved by diff groups and nations and going to be rebuilt from the ground up.. I mean everything.... it will be a lot different... not everyone will see this as a good thing...but the Haiti we all know is going to be gone forever.

It's difficult to deny the short-term benefits of all of the rapid development going now. However, I am skeptical of the long-term benefits as some may perceive it as a contemporary form of slavery just in the form of financial slavery and usury. Unfortunately, this is Haiti's doomed destiny unless we can contain/control foreign influence and transfer equity to local hands.

There will definitely be long-term benefits... but of course foreigners will be benefitting as well.... it's not being done out of charity. You have Michelle Martelly first and foremost laying the ground work for Haitians to take charge... so first thing on the Agenda is to increase literacy rates since they have plummeted like crazy in the last decades... Every wire transfer to Haiti has a 1$ fee that goes towards building schools and towards the school system... literally every aspect of Haitian life has to be revamped right now.. from roads (taiwan), school systems, building codes, everything... so these are all things that people will benefit from... in the long term... the short term of course is job creation.... production... Haiti imports every little thing at the moment and that drives prices up crazy, which is nuts for a country where most people live in complete poverty. Foreigners will not control the whole Island but that is up to the Haitian govt to make sure that their side gets a good deal...all while making sure corruption doesn't ruin everything.

Love
I need to visit Port Au Prince.
It's my home town but you wont enjoy Port Au Prince much right now. shyt has gotten too crowded over time and is still a disaster area for the most part. Better off in the provinces in the countryside.

Places like Jacmel, Port-Salut and Camp-Perrin. Many others. Especially during the Fete Champete festivals that go on in different places during different times of the year.

shyt be funny because it's supposed to be somewhat of a religious holiday/fest but mofos just stop by the church and throw up a Hail-Mary for 5 minutes and then it's party in the streets, getting drunk and chasing b!tches :russ:

Man anything progressive for Haiti I'm all for it, even if it's mostly by IMF. Jobs, and increased education of the people will only help the economy of the country. It's better then being stagnant for so many years.

I saw a wicked attraction about a Haitian guy that stole some guys identity, charged 200k in credit card bills in the mans name, took his wife, bought her gifts with the cards, then sent the husband a destructive device in a package that ended his life. It was sad.

I believe Haiti is the only country to have a successful slave revolt....I believe white folks been dying to get their hands back on Haiti
As it is there are lot of projects you can't do with Bill Clinton's ok... and G W bush... so it's already begun. Oprah also has a piece of Haiti w her name on it.... that's just the way shyt is... as it stands tho the people have nothing so they will feel benefits from almost every little thing... I'm speaking on areas like PAP of course.
