Melo isn't nearly good enough to win as a first option, and is too selfish and ball dominant to be a third option.

That's just the problem, and you don't even realize it. Carmelo will always be your 1 or 2, and you will never win a championship because of it. Just like Iverson. They're "better players" than Allen, easily... but if I'm a coach, and I'm building a team designed to win, I would rather have Ray Allen than either one of them. I'd rather have Ginobili than Iverson as well. I'd take Ben Wallace over Blake Griffin. I'd take Dennis Rodman over Russell Westbrook. I'm sure a lot of people would read this and think I'm out of my mind, and I'm cool with that.

Take guys who combine for less points a game than :russ: and Blake average alone over one of them? Guys who can't create offense and have to be off the floor for stretches due to the hack a :shaq: strategy? Yeah this post is neg worthy

the guy is a talented player, he's just not one of the best in the league. in the right situation, as in an all around great defensive team like the bulls were a few years ago or the pacers from last year, he could win a title. he's just not the type of superstar that can carry a team to a title with his talents alone nor does he do a good job of making everyone else around him better, but himself has a lot of talent.

i hate melo btw, i think the guy is a fakkit, but he is definitely a superstar.
