I was randomly watching an interview some of the cast did like 5 years ago to commemorate like 40 year anniversary of godfather or some shyt. Godfather 3 was brought up and James Caan was like :hhh: don’t even bring that trash up.

I feel Duvall, you gotta stand on principle.

The original Godfather III idea was that it would be Michael v Tom, to control the family. With Michael's son, now a US senator, caught in the middle (and killed). And when Duvall didn't sign on, they changed it to focus on the daughter being caught in the middle (and killed).

No Whammies!!
I liked it :yeshrug:.
I only saw the original once so I can't really compare what changed, but from what I read the main changes are just that its cut to be a little be shorter and a scene is rearranged.

Finished up my recent rewatch by putting on 2 last night and this newer version today. I liked this one. :ld:

Always felt :patrice: about the original part 3. I’ll check it out soon to see if I still feel the same.

Mostly reshuffling scenes to make the Immobilarity shyt a bit clearer early on. There's like 2 or 3 deleted scenes. A few scenes have different edits (most notably the final scene).

All in all..... A cash grab of a cash grab movie.

I like to imagine the last don as the finale to godfather instead of part 3.

I was just watching this a few weeks ago

it's crazy how this movie doesn't even seem like it was directed by Coppola

it almost feels like a movie directed by some no name director who got the chance to direct a part III and failed miserably at adding something special to the established legacy.
