Beautiful city but yall motherfukkers can't drive worth a fukk. I almost got ran over a few times
Got dammit

It is bad. I always joke that it isn’t that Atlanta drivers can’t drive, it’s just that they don’t fukking care. Speeding, swerving in and out of interstate lanes w/ no turn signal, shyt can drive me crazy.

I haven't even been to the new stadium. shyt seems like a chore.

Man when they announced the move I hated it and thought it would be a traffic nightmare… but somehow they pulled it off and isn’t nearly as tough to get to as I thought it would be.

I live in west midtown and it’s quicker for me to get to the new stadium than it was to get to Turner field (8 miles compared to like 3.5)

Sidenote…. Find the number of cities that have THREE professional stadiums all in the downtown area…. It’s damn near none. Atlanta already committed to the new Falcons stadium and Philips is still there.. they weren’t gonna be able to fit in a new baseball stadium w/ all the stuff around it that the Braves wanted.

Yeah the Battery is dope but seeing how they have built up Summerhill to what it is now I could see a scenario where it would have been even better if the Braves stayed.

"Centennial Yards" is the next big thing.

I wonder if that will revitalize down town?

They couldn’t have done the Battery in that area. They would have never gotten the tax breaks that Cobb put on their residents. Even if they did we still would have been pushed out by the gentrification.

I’m in Lindbergh.

What happened to this place? Homeless everywhere. Wet Willies is gone. Is T&G still open?

Gold Room looks like shyt. Now they’re trying to call it “Uptown Atlanta”. :mindblown:

Wet willies has been gone for like 3 years. They had another bar at that location but I think they closed. I haven’t been to the Goldroom in years

I disagree, I think they could have fitted everything in summer Hill pretty easily.

@Voice of Reason owner of those lots around Turner Field wasn't going to do anything other than make money off those lots. He wasn't interested in making a deal with the city or the Braves. He is only interested in making money.

I thought it made no sense to put a wet willies in Atlanta. Wet Willies is better located along the beach or in Vegas

Save your bread, food wasn't hitting on nun. Everything was made with enough sugar to give you diabetes

Made for ig reels and nice photos. Grass walls and bad food

sadly this is too common in the city everywhere now :snooze:

Look up the number of cities w/ 3 major sports arenas all in one concentrated area… outside of Philly I can’t think of a single one….

NYC you got the football stadium in Jersey. Boston you got the football stadium in Foxborough…

Go to Chicago, you got the Bulls, Cubs and Bears, all playing at stadiums that are all 6-7 miles away from each other… And you’re talkin like Atlanta has the infrastructure to just have 3 stadiums all in a 2 mile radius…?

Go to Phoenix, you got the baseball and basketball stadium right next to each other, then you got the Cardinals playin way out past Glendale…. It just doesn’t happen bro.

To fit the stadium and the battery in Summerhill, they woulda had to get rid of neighborhoods there and displace people. Then we woulda heard the Braves are gentrifying downtown. It’s a no-win situation w/ people sometimes.

It all sounds easy until you realize we (at least those of us who live in Fulton County) would be footing the tax bill for all three of those stadiums…?

Personally I enjoy taking a 15 minute drive and enjoying all the battery amenities that I know Cobb County residents are paying for :yeshrug:
