I work close to these apartments, not a bad price for the location if willing to live in Midtown (the studio apt).

You couldn't pay me to live in Midtown
The construction will last longer than 285/400

You can find nice spots in the city for way cheaper than that. Besides, no self respecting man wants to live on that part of Piedmont. :dame:

It’s still cheap spots in Clayton & DeKalb..they’re like 10 minutes from the city but folks gotta live above their means and be on some tv shyt trying to live downtown or midtown

I know that is the Lenox/Phipps area...

But that ish says 391 square feet...

I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe, especially every time I see that ATLANTA is topping the list for expensive places to live.

I don't know what brought all these people here. First thought it was the Olympics, then all the movies where folks went to Atlanta to start their lives over, and then there was Katrina in NOLA. Still doesn't seem like it should have been enough to attract so many transplants.

I find it hard to believe any natives are paying those prices, but I guess they wouldn't charge that if they didn't think someone would pay it.

Can't really speak for ClayCo, but funny part is some of those cheap spots in Dekalb, IMO, only seem cheap because they're being compared to everywhere else. I've seen the house prices in ClayCo and they are comparably cheap, but, hell, it's still ClayCo. Same with DeKalb.

Saw some absolutely gorgeous affordable houses in the Stone Mountain/Redan/Lithonia areas but couldn't get past the fact it's still Stone Mountain/Redan/Lithonia and, relatively speaking, those prices are still too damn high for that area - especially if you look at what they were assessed at pre-pandemic. I think it'd be hard as hell to sale those homes later down the line, too, for those same prices unless they do a lot of work to the area.

It's crazy too because when I was still in high school, the kids that came from the well-to-do families in DeKalb lived in those areas. When I go there now, it is hard to believe.

ClayCo gonna be super expensive next. They are already building state of the art high rise luxury apartments condos over there.

Right now would be the time to buy some property over there

It’s like that in south Fulton as well..I used to work in the Langston Hughes HS district in Fairburn/South Fulton, & some of those kids stay in some beautiful homes and subdivisions..I’m talking 4 level homes with 6 bedrooms, multiple living areas, mini bars in basements etc but they wanna act like they from Allen Temple or Bowen Homes

Clay Co could be really nice man..close to the city, every major highway goes through it, and part of the airport sits in Clayton..we have like the 3rd or 4th largest school district in the state, so we’re bound to get decent funding.

But like you said, folks just can’t do or act right in certain areas

I believe it. I'll know it's truly over if it's crazy expensive in Riverdale/Forest Park/Jonesboro and the like. Again, these places were all super nice when I was a girl. I remember seeing the change though, just like with East Point in Fulton. Guess we'll see it change back eventually.

I remember very well what South Fulton used to be like back in the day - especially when a lot of it was just woods and the train on Roosevelt Hwy. I even remember when Old National Hwy had nice places to visit lol. Every time I even look at Camp Creek now, though, I shake my head. Used to love visiting family off Washington Road and remember some of those same areas you're talking about further down 85 towards Fairburn. Hell, I remember when Shannon Mall was open and very nice.

ClayCo used to be nice though...well, at least the area and homes. Never really cared much for the school system. And it was ideal because, as you've said, it's right there by Hartsfield with connectors to 75, 285 and 675 on down the way.

PS I know you're an ATLien because you referenced Allen Temple...lol wow!

If you can afford it, it's nice living in midtown, having so much stuff walking distance from you. My car sits for over a week straight something because mostly everything I need is walking distance or I can walk to the Marta station.

I've lived all over Atlanta and enjoy living in midtown the most, but that's just a personal preference
