‘Just bring him home’: Mother pleads for safe return of 1-year-old Blaise Barnett

Mom says she was unloading groceries at 1am..left the kid in the car to take some bags in the crib, & she said she was just gone for 30 seconds, & when she came back the suv was gone. something about this story seems fishy. Hopefully the kid is safe and is returned though.

but usually when stuff like this happens, they drop the kid off somewhere & keep the car. In this instance they returned the car but kept the baby :patrice:

Yeah that story is compelling from a few different angles, especially the bolded. 2002 Explorer, that shyt prolly broke down after an hour of driving

mom said the car wasn’t even running & she had the keys..whoever stole it was on some movie shyt hot wiring a car under 30 seconds

Nah lol, I had a 96.

The 3rd gens (2002-05) had a number of issues, most notably transmission failing earlier than normal

I had a 97 explorer I rode till the wheels fell off literally :wow:

them joints are tanks if maintained properly, plus they’re easy to fix. I sold mine in 2014 after driving it for 7 years. It had been in the family since 01. I thought about getting another one but I’ma cop a 96 Bronco once the world calms down

Missing 1-year-old found safe more than 36 hours after being abducted in stolen SUV

CLARKSTON, Ga. — Police have located the missing 1-year-old baby safe after he was abducted in a stolen car early Wednesday morning.

Blaise Barnett was found alive at a home in Clarkston around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Channel 2 Action News was outside a home when GBI investigators carried the boy outside a home on Rogers Street wrapped in a blanket. Blaise was checked out by paramedics and reunited with his family at the Clarkston Police Department.

The home was less than one mile from where Blaise and his family live and around the corner from the police station.

Channel 2′s Dave Huddleston talked to Blaise’s mother, Deonna Bray, who thanked God that her son was found safe.

“He’s safe now. He’s home,” Bray said. “That’s all I wanted.”

Huddleston said the woman who owned the home seemed confused at how the boy got there.

Police said the woman found the Blaise inside a car in the driveway. She brought him inside and called 911.

Tow trucks were at the home Thursday afternoon removing a vehicle.

According to Bray, Blaise was in his family’s car around 1 a.m. when someone stole the Ford Explorer and drove off as she was taking groceries inside.

Bray said the SUV was stolen in just 30 seconds.

The SUV was found Wednesday near the Brannon Hills condos on Memorial College Ave, about a mile and a half form the boy’s home.

Channel 2′s Justin Wilfon talked to a neighbor who was overwhelmed with emotion after the baby was found.

“I’m just excited. I can’t stop crying,” Talitha Mowrey said. “We’ve all been looking and praying that this baby was all right. Thank God. Really the Lord had his hand in this. I’m so relieved. I can’t wait for the baby to get back home to Mama.”

Mowery said the home where the baby was found was owned by woman who lived alone. Mowery said she has been neighbors with the homeowner for 18 years. Mowery was not sure how the baby ended up in the home, but said she was glad Blaise ended up with someone like her friend and neighbor.

“I’m not chastising the parents. I know they’ve been sick, as we all have‚ but you cannot leave your keys in the car for a second ... That’s just the world we live in now,” Mowery said. “So I hope everybody takes heed to that. But I wanted to be clear I’m happy and delighted for the parents that the baby is back.”

Neighbors drove by honking their horns and celebrating Blaise’s safe return.

Investigators said the tip line is still open and they are still asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Clarkston is a small, tight-knit community of just over 7,500 people in DeKalb County. :mjlol:

CLARKSTON, Ga. — Police said the kidnapping of a 1-year-old boy last week in Clarkston is tied to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex while the child was still missing.

Blaise Barnett vanished for over 36 hours after his parents said he was abducted when their SUV was stolen outside their home early Wednesday morning.

Police confirmed to Channel 2′s Sophia Choithat they believe a deadly shooting in the area on Wednesday night is connected to Blaise’s kidnapping.

Police say that a man and a woman went to the Brannon Hill Condominiums on Wednesday night and shot Aziz Hassan, 60. Hassan died at the scene.

Delarius Miller, 38, was arrested the same day and charged with murder. Santana Miller, 34, was also arrested on Sunday and charged with malice murder.

It’s unclear if the two suspects have any relationship to Blaise or his family, but family members were looking for the child in the same area Wednesday night. Police said there is no evidence to suggest Hassan had any involvement in the kidnapping.

The SUV that Blaise was abducted in was found without the child inside near the shooting scene at Brannon Hills on Wednesday afternoon.

yea WSB has some amateurs running their site. Every time I read a story there are spelling and punctuation mistakes. When the Braves won the title they didn’t screen what tweets they put on the website. A few of them had a lot of profanity in it :mjlol:
