Massive heroin bust likely largest in state with nearly 400 pounds removed near ‘The Bluff’


Agents seized roughly 170 kilos, or 374 pounds, of heroin or heroin cut with other substances near our area's biggest open-air drug markets - The Bluff.


Is this the biggest heroin seizure in Georgia history?” Winne asked DEA Atlanta special agent in charge Robert Murphy.

“Oh, by far. Nowhere even close to this amount have we seen before,” Murphy said.

The DEA said the seizure was roughly worth $8 million.

“Some of it (was) black tar. Some of it regular brown heroin,” Murphy said.

Murphy said this may be the first time DEA has been able to track the heroin route from The Bluff back to a specific cartel based in Mexico.

i work 8-4 then go to my other gig working with students on some band shyt. We only take them outside from 7:30-8pm cause it’s so hot during the middle of the day.

DEA shows off largest heroin bust in Georgia history; ‘prolific’ dealer tied to Mexican cartel arrested, officials say



The DEA, FBI and U.S Attorney’s office held a news conference Wednesday afternoon to show and explain what they found: Roughly 170 kilos of heroin, 41 guns and nearly $1 million in cash were recovered at two Atlanta locations.

Agents said their main suspect, Antonio Dashawn Daniels was working for a Mexican drug cartel and was supplying the drugs to three area neighborhoods, including the Bluff
