- Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Is Decatur GA nice? I see a lot of nice new homes going for close to and over 500K. Is that expensive for a GA home?

there are two parts of Decatur.
The white part of Decatur is nice as hell & expensive.
the other part is where 21 Savage, Gucci & OJ from, and it’s the exact opposite of the white part of Decatur.
500K for a crib is expensive in Georgia to me. I’m from Clayton County & most of the homes in my own stomping grounds are 75K-150K.
500K will put you in a nice safe spot.
How bad are the areas that 21 savage and Gucci are from and are there nice new homes being built there?
it’s not a war zone like they portray it to be, but it’s ghetto as fukk. If you go looking for trouble you’ll find it. You’ll hear about robberies, car theft, homicides & other crimes a few times a month but it ain’t on some Chicago shyt.
WSB just did a story on crime out there
Crime plummets in DeKalb County -- but not due to pandemic
I doubt there are any nice houses being built, as that part is filled with old houses. The white part of Decatur has new homes probably.

I just put in a search for homes near Towers HS, which is in Decatur. Those types of homes and apartment complexes is what you’ll see.
The nice homes on that side of town are mostly due to gentrification. East Atlanta, Kirkwood (aka Lil Mexico, Scooter & Future hood), & East Lake used to be some of the most dangerous places in the city, but it’s being cleaned up.
then you have Brookhaven & Druid Hills with nice homes, but they have historically been white neighborhoods. Lot of money out there.
Lithonia & Ellenwood are the black parts of the eastside with a few nice homes. I wouldn’t be surprised if you find subdivisions in those two cities with homes in the 500K range. There are a few mansions out there as well owned by black folks..I think T.O. used to stay in Lithonia.
But outside of that, Lithonia is ghetto & Ellenwood is slick country.
This is from the Lithonia Wiki page
“The unincorporated communities located outside the city limits make up almost 75% of the population estimated at over 15,000 inhabitants. Neighborhoods are broken into two ZIP codes: 30058 which includes the City proper, and communities directly outside the city limit, and 30038 located south of Interstate 20 which includes some of the most affluent neighborhoods in DeKalb County.”

ahhh didn’t know Lithonia was ghetto I was taught it was all around nice

gone get you a crib in Mableton by the silver comet trail. That’s where I’m at now and life is good.
I moved from Riverdale near old national.
That’s the whole other side of the city lol.
@SourPowerStraws if you have a family tho, listen to this man. Mabelton & Cobb County is low key

Speaking of Decatur
ATL Classic right there
I wonder if any other cities have hood ass suburbs like we do
Is Big Daddy’s Kitchen black owned? I know it’s a about 5 of them in the city; also the Q soul food joints and Yasins fish spot on Abernathy is dope tooI'm trying to support more black-owned restaurants around the Atlanta area so I've compiled a list into a public map. If anyone has any suggestions, please provide them and I'll update the map. It could really use some listings outside the perimeter, too. Link is below. Use and Share if you like.

30033 and 30030 are North Decatur/City of Decatur which is really expensive, but the area is nice and it has a top 3 school district in the state. Is Decatur GA nice? I see a lot of nice new homes going for close to and over 500K. Is that expensive for a GA home?
