Atlanta

that’s a good article.

I wonder if any movements can be had to bring attention to the gentrification going on.

One thing that’s missing when folks criticize Atlanta for not being a black Mecca anymore is they don’t take into account all of the majority black suburbs surrounding the city.

as I’ve stated earlier, their are neighborhoods & mansions in southern Fulton County filled with black folk that look better than those in Brookhaven, Sandy Springs and Buckhead.

Clayton and DeKalb Counties aren’t as affluent as southern Fulton, but they’re still mostly black and have a ton of black businesses.

Of course the ATL

I think the part of this article I agree with the most is the income inequality/gentrification issues. City leadership over the last 10-15 years didn’t anticipate what impact the Beltline would make in Atlanta to accelerate gentrification, housing values, etc

City leadership also hasn’t done enough to support our community with real job opportunities and job training to land jobs with these tech companies and Fortune 500 companies that the city/state has been attracting & recruiting for years.

The only thing the black suburbs are missing is grocery stores and better retail. My mom lives in a damn food desert. Her local grocery store is some korean run bullshyt. She lived in between two Publix and they both moved due to "theft"

:whoo: going to be interesting to see what happens in ATL if the cops keep going on strike. Hope the jackboys and trappers stay on their best behavior for a couple of days so we don't lose too much leverage. :leostare:

There ain’t been a sustained strike in America in almost 40 years. Them pigs can call out and cry but they coming back to work. Mad or not.

Idk what the hell i was doing, but I ended up on the website for Paschals on Northside Dr..I had no idea how historic & iconic that restaurant is for the city

Timeline - Paschal's - Soul Food Restaurant in Atlanta, GA

That was the meeting spot for numerous Civil Rights power lunches throughout the years...Fun fact: Herman J Russell’s offices were right next to it and have now been turned into the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which seeks to be the largest economic and entrepreneur development center for black people in the country. A lot of history in Castleberry Hills for black folks in Atlanta
