16-year-old arrested in plot to attack, kill people at predominantly black church
5-6 minutes
A prominent bishop said it was divine intervention that no events were scheduled at a Hall County church last Wednesday night.

That’s after police announced they arrested a 16-year-old girl who allegedly planned to visit the predominantly black church that night and kill those inside.

The teen, who is white, planned to attack the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, according to Gainesville police.

“Our investigation indicated the church was targeted by the juvenile based on the racial demographic of the church members,” police Chief Jay Parrish said Tuesday in a news release. “The church was immediately notified of the incident by Gainesville police to ensure the safety of our community and the current threat was under control.”

It’s not clear how the girl planned to carry out the alleged attack, but Parrish said the teen collected knives.

Gainesville High School administrators learned of the alleged plot from students who told them the girl had a notebook with “detailed plans to commit murder” at the church, Parrish said.

Administrators notified school resource officers Friday and opened an investigation. They verified the threat and turned the investigation over to Gainesville police, who took the girl into custody, Parrish said.

She was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder and taken to the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center.

Investigators aren’t sure how long the teen had allegedly been planning the attack, but “disturbing information” and drawings police found indicate the plot had been in the works for at least two weeks, according to Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook.

Her name has not been released.

Pastor Michelle Rizer-Pool said the teen visited her church last Wednesday, but no events were scheduled that night. Bible study is usually held on Wednesday nights.

“While we are very concerned about this incident, we are not surprised,” Bishop Reginald T. Jackson said in a statement Tuesday. Jackson is presiding prelate of the Sixth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which includes the Hall County AME church.

“Hate crimes and domestic terrorism have been on the rise for many years, but it is unfortunate we cannot have this perpetrator prosecuted on hate crimes in Georgia because there is no law on the books to address it.”

Georgia is one of four states without a hate crimes law, which allows for steeper penalties against certain bias-related crimes. The others are Arkansas, South Carolina and Wyoming.

Susan Fahey, associate professor of criminal justice at Stockton University in New Jersey, has studied hate crimes data. Speaking at a recent American Society of Criminology conference, Fahey said there is evidence that hate crimes are rising nationally. She said that increase began before President Donald Trump was elected.

“You can’t blame it on the current administration,” Jackson said, “but I think it is absolutely critical that this administration address the issue of domestic terrorism.”

It’s unclear if the teen was alone in the plot. Jackson said a guard reported last week that a young man visited the church inquiring about bible study.

Police have not said if anyone else is believed to be involved, and no one else has been arrested.

Jackson wants the girl tried as an adult. “To plan this kind of event is not that of a childish mind,” he said.

Jackson said it’s troubling that an AME church was targeted for such an attack because of the history of the church and “the role it has played in social justice issues.”

Gainesville police’s investigation continues.

“This is ... a prime example of how strong relationships between the student body, school administration and law enforcement can intercept a potentially horrific incident,” Parrish said.

I had an unpaid ticket for suspended registration in Fairburn, went to jail in East Point.

Let me tell y'all this story.

A nikka got pulled over and received a citation back in the summer. I didn't know my registration was suspended because I never got anything in the mail. I switched insurance companies so something got fukked up.

I went took care of the registration THE SAME DAY I got pulled over.

I went to court weeks later, they still hit me with an $800 fine. They placed me on "probation" to pay it.

A couple of weeks ago I forgot to pay my last $75 left on the fine. So, I'm on the way to work at the beginning of the week. Fairburn PD sitting on the side of the road with a plate reader...

nikka waited until I was 2 miles down the road to pull me over for "driving through the stripes in a double turn lane", which was a damn lie.

Anyway, he came to my window and asked if I knew I had a warrant. NAW nikka! :hhh:

He's gonna act like he did me a favor by not giving me a ticket for allegedly driving over these imaginary stripes and only taking me in on this bullshyt warrant.

Ok fine. I get to Fairburn police station with this nikka. Some court bytch comes out and asked if I had the money to pay. I'm like yeah, I got da 75.

She says no, it's 325 now.

:fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

I'm like "ok take my card" so I can gtfoh.

She then say, "oh... no... you have to go to East Point jail because we don't have one and you can bail out there by paying what you owe and this fine."

At this point, I'm already in cuffs and got my lil charge so I go in on her...:angry::angry:

:demonic:

I got some leg shackles and Sarge comes out to try to calm me down but I ain't hearing shyt.

2 hours later...

I get transported to East Point where it took 4 more hours to get booked in. I'm heated as fukk.

So I tell the officer to take my gotdamn debit card and let me go before I nut up. :damn:

Again... some dusty booty clerk hoe appears from no where talking about, " you can't bail yourself out. "

Oh, I went the fukk in. I was kicking cell doors and cursing nikkas out in the holding cell. So they put me in a joint by myself as if that was going to change anything.

I made so much noise and told them if I couldn't use my cellphone to call my girl to bail me out of that motherfukker... there was gonna be some cots and blankets moving around that motherfukker if I have to dress out and go upstairs for that lil punk ass 3 hunnid. Wasn't nobody nowhere I go getting any sleep in that hoe.

Buddy hurried up and gave me my property to get my girl number. :myman:

Long story short... after a 3 hour run around between those precincts she ultimately had to wait until the next day to pay at the probation office.

I was detained a total of 21 hours and raised hell 19 of those. I took 2 hours to rest a little.

East point police walked me out and everyone involved has avoided me since. Talking about I'm going to get another court date although my probation is over.

I can't wait for that court date... I can't fukkin wait ...:demonic:

Not gonna cap, didn't read except the first sentences. I had an accident in broad day in East Point and 12 charged me for causing it. Fought that shyt in court and the other driver was at fault.

So a couple of years later, I get in an accident in Fayette County, again not my fault. They say I have a warrant from an unpaid seatbelt ticket from the East Point accident. Spent 3 days in jail in Fayette waiting for transfer, and another 2 days in East Point for absolutely nothing. Moral of the story is EPPD ain't nothing to fukk with.

Sheriff fires, demotes deputies after ‘inaction' during deadly shooting
Sheriff Victor Hill fires, demotes deputies after ‘inaction’ during deadly shooting

Two Clayton County sheriff’s deputies will be fired and a third will be demoted after they allegedly failed to respond to a deadly shooting in accordance with agency standards.

The shooting at The Oasis event center Saturday night resulted in the death of 27-year-old Juan Perez Salazar and the arrest of 17-year-old murder suspect Jorge Beltran. The two were attending a quinceanera, a coming-of-age celebration for Latina girls, at the Jonesboro Road facility.

“While my special forces did a excellent job capturing the murder suspect within 48 hours, there were inactions by some of my personnel that was unacceptable,” Sheriff Victor Hill said Tuesday morning in a public advisory.

Two of the deputies, a sergeant and a captain who were not named, were working security for the party in an off-duty capacity. They did not receive agency approval for the job, Hill said.

“I think they need to know every detail about it before you take a person’s job from them,” said resident Angela Allen.

According to authorities, Salazar was shot when he tried to stop a fight between Beltran and another individual. A witness ran outside for the deputies’ help when the fight broke out.

“When they came inside and the fatal shot was fired, both deputies turned around and fled out of the door along with the fleeing crowd,” Hill said. “To make matters worse, both of them failed to render aid to the victim.”

Clayton County police officers were called to respond to the scene just after midnight. Salazar was found with a gunshot wound to his chest and ultimately died of his injuries.

The third deputy implicated by the sheriff, an unnamed lieutenant, also responded to the scene. He was reportedly made aware of the “cowardly behavior” of the sergeant and captain but did not notify command staff, Hill said.

“The sheriff’s office has a constitutional duty to protect that is mandated by law,” he said. “Therefore, there is no excuse that is acceptable for this malfeasance of duty.”

Both the sergeant and the captain are to be fired Tuesday morning and will not be allowed to resign, according to the sheriff. They could also face criminal charges if the district attorney decides to prosecute.

Victor Hill ain’t fukkin around :dead:

Ive been there a few times now and it’s my go to for entertaining dinners with guests or date night with the wife. It gets pricey but some of the best oysters, steak and drinks in the city and elite ambience.
