This was inevitable :russ: that SE/ Zone 3 area of the city so goddamn underdeveloped it’s a damn shame..once they started putting cac bike shops and skateboarding shyt over there u already knew what would follow

Cleveland Ave, Lakewood & the part near Carver HS some of the only few spots that still look like the old Atlanta

They won’t stop till the whole city is gentrified.

So what do you want to happen? Do you want Cleveland Ave & Lakewood to look like it does forever? Gentrification isn't all bad and if done responsibly can revitalize our communities. But all this "I hate change for the sake of change" talk is nonsense

When I say it looks like the old Atlanta, I meant in that there were still black families there instead of yuppies living there complaining about the folks who have been there for generations & no real estate developers pricing out people of color.

Change is good..that area needs to be developed but I don’t want it to come at the price of black folks who have been there forever to be pushed out.

Aye breh ima keep it a buck: Gentrification is gonna push some people out and bring some people in. There's a chance it pushes people of color out. I'd be happy if it was all black people living there too but the reality is that that won't happen. If you do live in a community that's at risk of being gentrified you need to make sure you own your home, get involved in your community, know your city representatives and know what's going on. Too often our community is sitting back like bystanders, either do something about it or sit back helpless and watch your neighborhood change before your eyes. But we as black people gotta make a decision on what we want to do and what we want to see happen
