That's cuz there was so much other good shyt out. We're talking bout the golden years of hip hop (the best years in hip hop) I ain't tryin to hear no b team/c team no limit rappers. :aicmon:if the main guys weren't putting out quality then y would I check for the benchwarmers? No limit albums were high quality garbage compared to what scarface did. If you want to talk bout high quality south music scarface is the south he dropped albums like no other that everybody could fukk with with master p and no limit it's just a south thing ppl usedto buy the main no limit albums just for the singles (back then ppl usedto buy albums even if they liked a couple of songs it's not like how we can just download full albums now, those albums aren't regarded great or even good) shyt was marketed well. those beats by the pound beats were always:scust: & again I have no hate for master p if I did I wouldn't bump ice cream man what I hate is the wack music that came from the label. but that's ur opinion that's mine let's leave it at that

xtz23 or mobbinfms are the perfect examples. You think those ignorantd heard Serv's debut, Ghetto Commission's or Mac's albums?
:picard:
Mention my name? But don't tag me in the thread when I'm gone?
That's cause you fear me in the digital form :pachaha:
I actually copped Serv On's debut. Returned it though :hubie:
I really fukked with his song on the Bout It Soundtrack. Which was another No Limit album I bought and returned.

You have to remember, I was listening to Master P before anybody in this thread. :skip:
Far as i can tell.
I saw the wheels coming off around the True album and got off the tank (I know a tank doesn't have wheels) :skip:
So why did I go back? :patrice:
Because of all the exposure Master P started getting around the Tru 2 Da Game album. :whoo:
Nobody is saying that every No Limit artist was getting the DIddy push though :hubie:

I read these posts and by the posts, and I could tell that some of these posters making these posts about NL were either 5 or 6 years old, or they didn't listen to NL when they dropped CDs, that's why it's hard to even take them serious, when they haven't listened 2 the CD when the CD 1st came out/or were listening to NL around that time, it's hard to take them serious, when they say P wasn't a good rapper, when the dude use to come into the booth and just rap his ass off, no pen or pad, dude was doing that back before anyone that it was cool to do. When NL made their run, thus them not understanding the impact that NL had on the game.
That's all good and well, but I was listening to P starting in 94. I can't speak for anyone else though. :hubie:
And I bought my fair share of No Limit albums too :hubie:

Ok Let me break you down right quick

Ppl used to buy albums buy the main no limit album because of the single? You said this

Why would someone spend $17.99 or more on an album when they could just get the single from the album for $2.99?? You do know NL were going plat and gold off of singles. So in your post you said ppl (a million plus fans) bought NL albums because they like 2 singles, as to say that they heard the album and liked 2 singles off of it and they bout.

See that there you're trying to fit today's climate into yesterday's climate, You couldn't preview an album before it came out buddy.:francis:

How was NL marketing albums well? What does that even mean breh? break it down. :dwillhuh:

Beats by the pound sound was trash but yet company sold over 75 million albums? What production company that is wack sells that many copies of albums breh:comeon:

The whole quantity over quality thing is getting tired, simply because I'll ask a poster to put up the "quantity" type albums in that 97-99 run Outta all those albums that dropped in that run, I bet more albums were good/dope. If NL dropped 30 albums in that time frame, 25 were banging.
Which ones have stood the test of time?
Which ones still ring bells?

Ghetto d any master p album besides ice cream man that whole roster was trash I don't like any of them dudes with the exception of master p and c murder even there just pac/face biters with no lyrics and wack beats. Snoops first album on that label was the most garbage shyt ever. It's high quality trash marketed well.

How is it wack when it was (I believe) the highest selling album that P put out?

Did it or did it not sell more copies than your favorite Mobb Deep album???

When you say "marketed well" what do you mean, because majority of NL albums only produced one video and had very little air play

Take for example MAC - Shell Shocked, What was it's radio single that you heard around the country on radios??

How many videos did that album get?

Last but not least, How many ppl outside of New Orleans have had even heard of MAC???

How many records did that album sell??

Snoop's album was trash. His other two on NL were good though. They weren't "No Limit" albums though.

Look man I'm not gon argue with u this is how I feel.

- the albums have no replay value
- the albums are wack
- nobody mentions these albums besides the die hards.
- master p or any no limit rapper besides snoop will nvr be regarded with the elites.

Some dudes make corny hits some dudes stay true to the art form and release albums/ or consistent great tracks with substance that's just the way it is hate it or love breh.:francis:
