Process of elimination, try to find something that will make you feel good about your situation. Show is cool. It borders on corny...but because it caters to hiphop it kinda makes up for it. The slang they use is all fukked up though.
I only watched the 1st ep. My gawwwwd is this show dope AF. I'm not rushing thru this one. It's that good. Homey from the movie Dope is killing his role. Hell the cast in general is just

The show is highly stylized so that may be why some people have complaints. I dig it though.

some clips of former NYC Mayor Ed Koch (who is portrayed as a character in the latter episodes)
Personally was never a fan of this man. Big quality of life crime supporter..totally against the graffiti on the subway (among other things)
this first clip he talks about how he actually wanted to use WOLVES to patrol the subway yards against graffiti writers
the 2nd clip are a montage of some of his campaign commercials in '77 - the same year The Get Down takes place
