As far as I'm concerned Jay was never in the same tier as Nas. The little beef they had just pitted their names against each other but it's obvious to any knowledgeable hiphop head one is superior to the other.

The thing is Nas is just too talented, skilled and knowledgable for Jay to ever compete with long term.

With Jay ever since American Gangster and even arguably since the start of his career, you could easily predict what 80% of the subject matter on his album will be before coppin' it. Money and Coke lines. Jay is a solid lyricist but that shyt gets tired and old.

Nas continues to re-invent himself. His lyrics will stand the test of time and will always be relevant. I've actually gained knowledge listening to Nas' music over time. You can say that about only very very few others.

Fukkin stans man...it's always either or with everything

I'm a fan of both but I'm just "okay" on NASIR. Wasn't bad at all, but it was like Nas wasn't at home on these beats. He didn't sound too natural on this production, but its short length gives it replay value.

Nas has been a better musician than Jay-z but jigga stans will bring up Beyoncé, stadiums and his money to try to argue the point. Not to say Jigga is wack, but compared to Nas.. come on. Nas is atleast top 2 only behind biggie or Tupac

Nas is my man but jay’s catalog is just as good if not better

Some fans got hurt way worse than Nas or Hov after their battle, and they will never let it go. They will forever have disdain for one or the other, even though the two combatants have peaced it up, and even worked with each other a few times. It’s quite astounding when you think about it.

Both are legends in the highest regard to me.

I respect the work Jay been putting in but he's never been on Nas level as an emcee. This album wasn't needed to separate them at all
