So watching half of season 5 and season 4 in reverse order, I'd say that season 4 actually isn't too bad and everyone has a realistic fall off the slippery slope given where season 3 left off...but season 5 is just dumb.

I’m having the same view. Watched season 4 last night and this morning and now in season 5. They lost a lot in losing kelly. The beef between Melanie and Tasha was stupid. Season 4 was a decline but season 5 was pretty close to trash and the show was ass season 6+
the show was just so much better on UPN, more football/locker room time, better female trio with kelly in the mix, Tasha & Rick fox and giving her a life at the agency instead of sitting around up under Malik and TT...As far side characters, Dionne, janay, OG Brittany, Irv...they were all gold in the OG run also

I’m 1/2 way through season 5. Everyone has big falls, but I can’t get over how shytty they made Derwin and Melanie. Wasn’t a damn thing redeemable about either one.

Ha, now I know how I watched season 5 first by accident. Hulu sorts episodes by descending order for some dumb reason so when I went to season 4 I started from the top and it was the season finale. But the start to that episode honestly felt like a reintroduction coming off season 3 so I was fooled 
It had a spark when it started but the end was just garbage. I actually really liked the 1st couple of season. Then the show started to change. The last season was complete trash and might of had one of the the worst series finals I ever seen.

Milik and Tasha had zero character growth. They might of even went backwards. The series final had no finality to it. Derwin and Melanie made a cameo but didn’t even interact with most of the original cast

I remember being hyped when the show came back but I gave up on the BET seasons pretty early and never bothered finishing the series. Those first few seasons were great tho. Malik, TT, and Jason we’re some funny ass characters.

I’m at the end of season 5. Derwin and Melanie are damn near unrecognizable. Derwin is a completely selfish dikk and Melanie is insufferable. It’s almost impossible to believe that the couple we watched grow in seasons 1-3 could turn into these 2.
I’ve come around on Malik somewhat. His arc in terms of dealing with drug addiction and the recovery isn’t terrible.

Made it to season 6. They made Derwin so unlikeable I actually didn’t care when they replaced him with Blue. Also, in what world does an owner trade an MVP receiver for a rookie 4 months after the receiver won MVP.
