Melanie and Derwin’s relationship was so rocky, everything was a threat to it. That might be 1 of the best “bad” relationships on tv.

I finished seasons 1-3 on Netflix. I’m hAlf-way through season 4 on Hulu. The writing really went to shyt when it went to BET. On UPN the characters were flawed kind of shytty people. But they weren’t so far gone that you couldn’t empathize. Outside of TT, everyone is just a shytty selfish person.

Just abandoned moesha for The Game. I loved this show when it was on - well the OG cast before Derwin and Melanie left. And Jason Pitts is still one of my favorite characters from any show ever.

Lemme hold that Hulu login. I just finished season 1-3 and was upset to find out the whole series wasn’t there (really only care to see through season 5, once Mel and Derwin left, show was pointless)

I started the BET episodes too and completely agree.

BET just wanted to emphasize the messiness and turned Derwin into an egomaniac while Melanie became a borderline sociopath.

And even when Malik was at his worst in the early episodes he knew messing with Melanie was foul and stopped her. Now he's creeping with his lifelong best friends girl?!

And ironically they turned Jason into the most likable character on the show

Like holy shyt they turned Melanie into such a horrible person in season 4. At least her season 2/3 fukkery was acting out because of the stress of Derwin cheating and her medical school shyt. In this season she's just a sociopath.

Even weirder, BET sanitized the content...despite it being on cable now

It was everyone. I think the only person who should have been wilding out was Kelly. There was no reason for Derwin and Melanie to be like that. It just got worse every episode. The DNA test shyt, turning his back on Malik, helping recruit the new QB, firing Tasha.

it really makes me appreciate seasons 1-3. You can see the relationship fall apart. But despite all the shady shyt they did, they were both still fairly like able people you wanted to succeed. With season 4 they’re just rich folk doing shady shyt for the sake of shady shyt.


I think I gave up when Jay Ellis got put on the show in the original run because everyone was still just complete trash and I couldn’t hope for a Derwin redemption arc.

This show fell the fukk off when it went to BET...I’m watching season 4 now and they definitely made the crew seem like a cliche clique in a rap video and went too hard with making it a drama. They end every episode with a dramatic montage overplayed by a song, it’s really cringe to see them fall back on that tactic episode after episode
