Playing through Starfield now and it's like having a huge meal thats missing flavor. Fried chicken, mac & cheese, english peas, rolls, & tea. Only problem is, the food isn't seasoned and the tea is zero sugar. You'll eat it, but you won't really savor anything or reccomend it. They threw them a bone in the RPG category, though if they're honest, it's nowhere near BG3 in that category, either. It's probably the most quintessential OK game I've played since Days Gone. Not terrible, not great, just...there. Definitely not GOTY worthy.

So is Cyberpunk worth playing now. I remember all the bad reviews on it and the glitches being talked about. I also read that the streets are empty for it being an open world game

Hogwarts was mid, and it def didn't get nominated for anything because of the author. I don't think spiderman should be nominated because I don't think it was worthy in this strong year. I thought FF16 was the much better game, and there were a few others. Starfield didn't deserve nomination imo, and the game was solid for the most part, but you have to do more than being a better game than Fallout 4 to get nominated in a strong year. Also, it's weird seeing FF16 in the RPG category instead of action, but whatever. Also, I felt Chained Echoes was rob because it's a much better game than Sea of Stars, and it's odd not seeing Pentiment nominated for anything when that game reviewed well, but missed the cutoff last year.

Sometimes shyt ain't as complicated as we want it to be. Hogwarts is a game that ranged from mid to surprisingly good, depending on who you ask. Delays fukked it over from the awards standpoint by pushing It to early 2023 instead of late 2022, but even then, it probably still wasn't a serious GOTY contender compared to last year's crop. The pure sales volume would suggest that at this point, the IP is probably immune to whatever fukkery JK Rowling is up to at any time.

Game is easily top 5 or so released game this year who gives a fukk if its a remake.

Ehhh, I kind've get it. At a time when we're starving for successful original IP, seeing a game that's technically the fourth rerelease of an all time great game getting nominated hits a bit different.

It absolutely is. I'd argue that as of now, it's the closest to what they sold it as being when they were promoting it. I'm in the middle of a replay, and wben without having touched the Phantom Liberty stuff yet, I'd say it's easily one of the better games I'll have played this year.

Streetfighter 6 is 92 on opencritic while Mario and Spidey are 91, Alan Wake and Hi Fi Rush are 89.

Hi Fi Rush probably gets the nomination if Alan Wake didn't come in so late.

Maybe Streetfighter gets it it they disallowed remakes so Capcom still get a game as well.

You can go on opencritic right now and you'll see 2023 Hall of Fame with Streetfighter 6 at #5 yet larry boxes acting like midfield 83 not getting a nom is biased media

Traditional Fighting games don't get goty nominations, much like racing games.

Hi-fi rush probably has the biggest snub.

It's in 5 major nominations, same as Zelda and Mario, more than RE 4 bit no GOTY nomination.

Hifi will luckily win at least 1 category, and it really deserves it tbh
