Two weeks from today, Supergirl and The Flash will meet for the first time in live-action. However, those of you only watch the one of these shows (or possibly neither) won't have to worry about being well-versed in either of their respective histories to understand what's going on. "Obviously, you have to understand the concept of superheroes and that they can have all sorts of different kinds of powers when [The Flash] shows up," executive producer Greg Berlanti explains in an interview with TV Line before adding: "People will appreciate how he gets [to National City] and their journey that they take in the hour."

Interestingly, it seems as if romance may be on the cards for the Scarlet Speedster and Girl of Steel, with executive producer Ali Adler confirming that Barry and Kara have "quite an adorable banter" and "immediately click." However, one person not too keen on that is James Olsen according to Mehcad Brooks. "We have this little rivalry, because he’s a superhero, too, and kind of hitting on my girl a little bit. I’m like, ‘Damn you, Barry.'" Melissa Benoist wouldn't give too much away about that, but did drop some hints about the time the two heroes spend together. "It is the most joyous occasion to have these two superheroes together in the same place, at the same time, working together. They are both so happy with their powers and what they get to do and how they get to help people, that it’s kind of infectious and exciting and upbeat and happy."
Finally, talk inevitably turned to future crossovers, and it sounds like something which is already being considered. "We really had an amazing time making it," Adler says. "It was tough to juggle people’s schedules. The Flash is a busy man, but in success, we’d love to do this again."
