I had to remember to list the reasons in my reply LOL

Yeah I've noticed we don't do enough of that when we're voting on this shyt. The people who say "yes" don't always give their reasons why other than "my childhood" or some choice quotes from the flick while the people who say no don't say why it's a no.

The point of this thing was to foster some discussion around flicks that someone else holds near and dear and truly deciding whether we believe this thing is one of the greatest movies of all time for whatever your reasons are. Or whether you think it's good but not a part of that upper echelon conversation.

We're a smart bunch, so this shouldn't be a thing for us.

I was a Turtle NUT back in the day.
So when that movie dropped i lost it!!
But seeing it even now you just appreciate the level of detail they put into that with the costumes/animatronix.
They LITERALLY brought the Ninja Turtles to life!!
I think i love the movie now more than i did when i was little just off that alone.

Hell yeah it's a classic. @FlyRy might have to catch neg up out this bytch.

When I first heard Raph scream "Damn" as a shorty had me like :gladbron:

The reason it's a classic to me is cause it hit all bench marks: comedy, emotion, triumph, comradery, dope fighting and voice acting.
And the gutterness of it made it so believable to me as a shorty.

Plus the script was on point with endless quotables evidenced by this thread...

As others have stated, they brought TMNT to life. It was believable. Supporting cast actually looked like who they were supposed to be portraying.
It covered all the basic ranges of emotions to be considered a "great " movie.
I cried when Raphael was hurt
I cheered when Shredder was defeated
It taught me about teamwork and the importance of family.
And how could you NOT love baby Splinter practicing his moves with his Master?
