I really loved this movie. However, I do not think it is as hilarious as people are saying it. It's a dark comedy, heavy emphasis on DARK, as in dark AF. Everyone brought their A-game, the acting was top notch, and the script was brilliant but I left this movie feeling so fukking heavy. Me and my friend spent the night drinking and talking about all of the various meanings of what we saw. Maybe this hit me different because I'm a woman and have had issues with fertility but the film's messages about personal autonomy, manipulation, love, and just the various ways people use each other to get what they need hit me hard. It is funny but I think advertising it as a comedy is misleading because we stopped laughing somewhere in the middle.

I'd still give it a 9.5 out of 10 though and would not begrudge any awards it gets.

I understand what you mean but honestly humor is the only way they could make most of the content tolerable. Abigail's past is horrid and filled with trauma, and it only becomes not too heavy because the film depicts her with a droll acceptance to it being the way of life if you aren't on top. The suffering she has to go through to make it there, we quickly learn, is nothing compared to the suffering she's already in.

For a movie that's essentially about three unstable, maddening women, it's an undeniably feminist film because on the background we are constantly reminded that what made them unstable and maddening are the actions and behaviors of men.

Good movie and better than The Lobster but it's not the jump in quality I was hoping in Yorgos. Feels too long and the fisheye is so out of place, it really didn't need it imo.

Not movie of the year for my personal taste. but it's good. I know people wasn't rocking with "Sacred Deer" like that but I was. This one to me, I just think that Abigal chick just outshined everybody. Queen was ok. The other chick was cool. Now, tall dude was good. But to me, it needed stronger characters like Abigail. But everything else about the film was dope. The wide lens, the dialogue. It wasn't ha ha funny, but I like the tone of the satire. But I ain't really into no gay love stories. Especially with a chick that was ugly, fat and cripple like the Queen. Not into lesbianism but I especially don't wanna see it with somebody who is as ugly as her.:scust:

Just finished watching this from Redbox and was entertained :ehh:

How mean Sarah was too Abigail in the beginning was :mjlol:

Only for the reversal by Abigail :lolbron:

Then the dark ending for everyone :wow:
