The fact that Jay and his fans STILL act like he owns the Nets, is utterly pathetic.

Jay owns 1/15th of 1% of the team...but is pimping the Nets?

Prokhorov dont gotta do shyt, Jay getting the attention...Nets getting the free promo from a nikka who doesn't have his own arena, didnt bring the Nets to Brooklyn, and has no pull in his position.

if you wanna keep it 100, Kris Humphries is getting more Money from the Nets than Jay.

Nets got the best free promo for the urban demographic just off Jay's Image ... cause people will buy tickets just off the fact it's they favorite rapper..and he is brooklyn bred.

who's really winning? not Jay
Maybe you're just slow. Nobody is going to Nets games just to see Jay Z sit in the crowd. Yes, Jay Z is getting major-owner shine when he only own 1/15 of a percent. The free promo or shine that he gets as a socalled owner of the Nets goes a long way to further his brand which means more money in his pocket. He supposedly invested a million into the Nets but has recouped that over and over just off of the shine of being an "owner". Just look at the pic that I posted. 1 guy owns 80% of the team and the other guy owns 1/15 of 1%, yet who's in front? Yes, he's pimping the Nets. Jay Z's whole image is built on being a boss and his association with tw Nets is a big part of that. That's why he brags so much about it in his lyrics, it perpetuates the image.

Jay-Z Brooklyn Nets Ownership Power - Business Insider

The New York Times has a story out Thursday about the heavy influence Jay-Z has on the Brooklyn Nets despite only having an ownership stake that's one-fifteenth of one percent (~0.067%).

But what stands out most from the piece is the nearly infinite ways in which Jay-Z is due to rake in some serious dough from his minuscule $1 million investment in the team.

Here are five that caught our eye:

1. The Net's new arena, Barclays Center, will open with eight sold out Jay-Z concerts
2. The arena's most exclusive "Vault" suites, for which fans will have to shell out $550,000 a year to have access to, will offer patrons Armand de Brignac champagne. Jay-Z "promotes" and "holds a financial interest" in Armand de Brignac
3. Jay-Z's 40/40 sports bar/club will open a new location at the Barclays Center
4. Rocawear, Jay-Z's clothing line, will have a store at the arena
5. The Nets employ an advertising agency, Translation, which is half-owned by Jay-Z

The piece is meant to show the kind of power Jay-Z's been given just so he can make the team "cool" and "hip" to a younger generation of fans that will become part of a new fanbase.

Dude somehow got a 40/40 club in there a rocawear store, unlimited suite usage and people think this is a loss? That alone is worth more than what he put in its damn near impossible to lose money in his situation and also nobody that reads actually thought he owned the team but think about the professional connections he gained by being an investor that alone could be untold millions potentially.

You dudes must be really young or really stupid or both. He's not a part owner to get a check from the Nets you fools! It's part of the Jay-Z brand. Everything rich people buy in to or do is not to DIRECTLY bring in cash. But he does get the perks of being a minority owner and tie it in with the whole reppin Brooklyn thing, and several performances at the arena and you guys call this LOSING???

:snoop:

:scusthov:

When you're doing it under the premise of being a " Boss", and the dude who owns the Team and the group who owns the entire development it will profit more from it than you.

you aint winning...he getting money, but he aint winning.

Im talkin about input vs capital gain... No way is any non billionaire gonna own a team, but he invests a million dollars he may get 10s of millions in return and im not saying he owns the team nor could he, but the exposure he provides for the team and the exposure he gets for himself is worth way more than his investment.

Must be a flavor of the month thing....but as soon as the logo was unveiled, the merchandise moved. It moved very fast. They sold more since the unveiling then they did combined the last few seasons (keep in mind the jerseys haven't been unveiled yet)

they unveiled those awful ass jersey, breh!

you just ain't seen them because they are so cosmetically awful to the eye.

they are waiting for the season to start to avoid long term criticism.

similiar to all of jay's recent albums.
