Look at what happened when he finally “let go” and went Super Saiyan 2. He became a heartless sociopath who whooped Cell’s ass and reveled in watching his suffering.


Thats why he was so afraid of unleashing his potential. He kept that part locked away because it WAS the PTSD and by unlocking it he was tapping into the part of himself that suffered the most.

They were definitely too young and lacked enough training while having a Vegeta sized ego. Super powerful but a lot to learn. At that point, the Z Fighters were just that desperate to save the planet. fukked up and it's no excuse but even the vets had guilty consciences about sending them in.
