No, you weren't paying attention - Goku TRIED to use Instant Transmission but couldn't concentrate and find their Ki.

And not only that, but the anime dragged it out. In the manga the whole thing goes down in like 3 seconds, to the point where he wouldn't have even had the time to teleport and pick them all up:

If he didn't take the gamble, they'd all be dead. None of the. We're strong enough to beat Cell, Goku included. So he would have died anyway

And yes @FunkDoc1112 is absolutely right, in the manga everything happens quick asf which is what I'm saying there was no time to get Gohan and the rest.

There's some legitimate dikkhead shyt Goku did, but I don't consider these examples of those

When Vegeta wishes everybody back, Goku's immediate idea is to just zap Gohan to Supreme Kai's planet and finish him off.

And as I just showed in those manga pages, it wasn't some twisted ass deliberate choice. He saw Mr. Satan and Dende close to him, tried to rescue them, tried to get to Piccolo and his sons and failed. He couldn't save everyone in time.

But again, Goku didn't deliberately decide not to save them. He saved Mr. Satan and Dende because they were right in front of them, thought he could reach the kids, but couldn't.

You're projecting nonsense onto a show that doesn't do subtext. You think Goku would have been so shaken up afterwards if he was like "Nah, fukk 'em"? Mr. Satan was far more useless than Gohan could've ever been - we only know he wound up coming in handy IN HINDSIGHT.

Goku grabbed the first person he saw cuz it was the right thing to do but couldn't save everybody. End of story.

Also, Gohan never got beat up when he had the power advantage. The only reason things went left against Buu was because Buu faked everybody out with his little explosion - he had all that shyt planned from the moment he sensed Gohan's ki.
