The fact remains, women have no good reason to wear weaves.

please show me this phenomenon that is sweeping the nation :ohhh:

This is pretty much my daughters hair texture, and it's probably not this woman's natural texture.

Plenty of white women wear weaves/chemicals to get this look.

It's more about the ill-informed stereotypes that are thrown around with the opinion.

I've been natural for going on 8 years. I have very long hair when it's straight and a huge afro when it's not. So for someone like you or the other guys to tell me that I hate myself because I put on my kinky OR straight half-wig (when it's extra cold and dry outside or when I want to wear a particular style for one or two days with manipulating my hair that much) is stupid. You expect someone to give you a hug when they are blatantly calling you a liar (someone who has no reason to lie because they wear their natural hair 95% of the year).

For instance, I wore a straight half wig in July for a trip to Miami to celebrate someone's bday because wearing straight natural hair in Miami would have been a disaster with humidity and I also didn't feel like manipulating my hair everyday.

In August, I had to travel to NY for a conference for four days. I had put my hair in two strand twist and I didn't think they looks professional (Right before the conference, I did a hard protein treatment and didn't realize it would my twists look horrible) so I put on my kinky hair wig (that looks exactly like my hair) and wore that the entire time.

Yall won't believe anything outside of self-hate and wanting be white (mind you I don't know any weave wearer that would ever buy white girl hair...indian and brazilian/afro brazilian hair probably the most popular but also the post expensive). Of course some women do genuinely hate their hair and wouldn't be caught dead without a weave, but that is not all black women. You could easily go on any black hair message board and see that. You could easily go on black hair message board and see that women buy and seek out a variety of textures. However, yall want to argue from ignorance.

Congrats you rock your own hair. We talkin about the women that only live and die by goin to the salon to get they huuurrr did girl. Wrappin they hair in weave like revenge of the mummy 365.

Styles are not natural, they are objective. Straightening her own hair...is still using her own hair. So what the fukk you askin?

So Black people walking around with straightened hair, as long as it is their own hair, is them being natural? :dead:

Y'all will go to any lengths to not critique Black men for the same things you salivate over even the opportunity to lay into Black women about.

The fact of the matter is, a natural style is one in which you don't alter or hide the unique kinky curl that is signature to most people of majorly African descent. Once you do, whether you are shaving all your texture off or covering it up with extensions, you are not rocking your natural hair.

That's a perm. White women have been getting perms for years, far far longer than Black women. But with white women its just them styling their hair, with Black women its a reflection of deep poor feelings we have about ourselves but that no one else can be said to have.

No this thread is clearly about any women who wears weaves. The OP said there is no good reason to wear weave and some said that the use of them as protective styles was bullshyt. Therefore, you are putting all women who wear weave be it all the time or occasionally in the same box.

Please produce a post of anyone who has said that. I'll wait. Yall like to pretend to be so logical but yall say some dumb shyt to try to win an argument.

go look at @Spoonz posts. i dont feel like searchin for the exact quote. but him and others have compared BM who rock tapers, fades, caesars and dreds equal to BW wearing weaves because they believe that if u in any way change the consistency of your hair, then that is the same thing as wearin weave. Im not just makin this shyt up
