:ohhh::wow::dwillhuh::whoo::whew::ooh::ohlawd::lawd::banderas:

never really been into rnb but i need to check this album

Fam go check the Bachelor & 100% Ginuwine. Then peep the Aaliyah albums from that time period, One in a Million, Aaliyah & I Care 4 U. Dare I say.. you gotta check that Missy Supa Dupa Fly... Missy& Static basically wrote everything on those albums i've mentioned and she basically kept a few RnB slow jams to sing for herself.

These two are the obvious stand out

At this point your plate is full as fukk :banderas: but hold up....:whoa: THEN WE GO TO THE BASSMENT

Missy, Static and Tim did a bunch of work for Devante Swing.. another thread covers all the piff but pretty much everything from 94-97 with Devante's name on it has that Timbaland bounce. The melodies are deeper and the sound is more sexy (Devante was a lady's man, Timbo is weird) but it's very dope.

Anyway back to the specific topic. 100% Ginuwine was under-rated

Even though he bit them drum & bass/jungle sounds Timbaland is a genius. I wish he would go back to this quiet storm style

Daps for everyone droppin' knowledge for these cats...

Edit: BTW, damn shame Timbaland doesn't have his pre-shock value albums available on Spotify, nikka on his :mjpls: shyt

Aaliyah's 2nd and 3rd aren't available either, but I can understand why

Cosign, im tryna make this Timbaland playlist on Spotify and its dope but still lookin' :flabbynsick: without the presence of Aaliyah or his first few Timbaland & Magoo albums

This. I loved aaliyah but she had struggle vocals. Heard we beed a resolution the other day first time in ages and was like :scusthov: without her writers and timbo shes the 90s/early 00s cassie

Aaliyah was no Mariah, Patti or Aretha, but she was still above average. I think this cover of Giving Up showcased it, I know Donny would have been proud.

we need someone to make an essential playlist from this camp.

The Bachelor is amazing..thats about the only full album by someone mentioned in here i listen to.
granted, i never heard a full Aaliyah album by myself just sitting listening to it..only if someone else played it.

liked a few Timb/Magoo albums but i haven't went back to them in years and i only have Beep Me 911 by Missy on my ipod.

Ahh. Yes. The Timbo/Missy/Aaliyah/Ginuwine Era. They changed the face of RnB forever. It was iconic what they accomplished. People love to bring up Timbo and Justin but as good as they are together, his best work was with Aaliyah, Missy and Ginuwine. This will forever be my joint from High School:
