They were blatantly in Interscopes pocket which was obvious 10 years ago, can't believe they floated it this long.

Yea that was ridiculous. Most their covers had to have an Interscope artist on the cover and Interscope artists all got favorable ratings that were given at least an XL in the review section. The blatant disregard for their credibility was incredulous.

XXL was the best Hip Hop magazine for a minute.

They had the best interviews for years, "the making of" stories, etc. They kinda lost me around 2010, but their run was a dope one. We're just in a different time now. Print isn't doing well at all, so they'd be able to cut losses by just keeping everything digital at this point. They were also the people behind Scratch magazine, which was short-lived, but a producer's or dj's dream rag. So they get nothing but respect from me.
