My bad, Nas debut at #1, but yet to you, he's somehow irrlevant, this is why Jay stans are by far the worst

No one outside of extreme hip hop heads are checking for nas...get over it.

Nas fans are in denial, this is why Nas stans are by far the worst.

While I agree Nas is more of an "artist" than Jay, and is in my opinion the greatest emcee of all time, it kinda disturbs me to see people view Jay as some kind of superficial artist. Granted to be fair, nobody that I've seen in this thread has come out directly and said that, but there's definately a feeling presented in the opening post and afterwards that he's superficial and lacks substance, which isn't entirely true.

I agree that he definately markets himself far better than the average artist, including Nas, but still he's not as 90210 as detractors would like one to believe. Particulary with the Black album and Blueprint, that nikka poured out his heart quite a bit on those albums.

Nas stans are horrible too, I agree, but I don't see how you can say an album goes #1 then say he's irrelevant? Reading your posts, its dumb arguing with you, the type to brag about Jay's money and him fukking beyonce all the time

:piss:

nas: illmatic, iww and lost tapes

jay-z: reasonable doubt, vol 2, and black album

blueprint is :ehh:

:what:

You said "good"

so let's be clear...people would say:

  • Nas: LIG (definitely), Stillmatic, Untitled and & Distant Relatives (Many)
  • Jay: Blueprint (definitely), American Gangsta, Vol. 3, (Many)

Jay has more swag on the mic. I dont know. He raps with a cockiness and has more presence than Nas.

I think whether you like Jay or Nas more depends on your own personality.

Some good points in this thread. I love both Nas and Jay, y people act like u can't b a fan of both tho??? But I still stand firm that Jay's career and music eclipses Nas' in just about every category.

Thats how I see it as well. Jay just had the better career for me.

No Nas is not better artist than Jay. Thats kind of ridiculous especially when you consider all the subpar beats he hs picked out over his career. What I give Nas over Jay is he has covered more subject matter in his rhymes. Both are among the elite in the history of hip hop.
