Ive said it here before but i actually work on the show. Season 1 was filmed between june-october of 2016 and we just finished filming season 2 about 3 weeks ago. So he had about a year n a half to lose that weight. I remember seeing him when we first started season 2 and i didnt think it was him until i realized it was

Yea they were scenes filmed by 112th st in spanish harlem in the projects by 1st ave

They shoot their times square scenes up by 164th and amsterdam im washington heights. They have 50+ ppl up there 3 days before they actually shoot dressing up the streets and all the modern storefronts that will be in the shot. I got more than 10 years in the nyc film business and this is easily one of the craziest productions to be apart of just because of the amount of work every department has to put in

man, I don't the average cat knows or even thinks about how much work it takes to do a period piece. especially when they gotta shoot it on location and have to dress it up to make it look old and authentic.

Doesn't feel like enough has changed for it to be 6 years later :patrice:

Good Twin and Abby still kinda just fukkin
CC and Larry still having the same hoes
Bro-in-Law still a degenerate running the sex rooms

Maybe I have the wrong view on pimps and hoes but I figured that shyt only lasted in like 2-3 year cycles :ld:

Still watching :blessed:

First ep was cool. This is just a different show. The drama is secondary to the scenery, dialogue and overall mood. What's actually happening is really not that compelling.
Also, this episode really pushed the “female perspective”. It shows how much has changed since the wire in terms of who’s watching, prestige dramas are actively being marketed to middle class (mostly white) women now in a way they were not before. The whole thing about Eileen making porn more feminine is really ridiculous since the porn industry has been around for decades and has not changed at all and there is no reason to change it, men are the ones who consume porn, if you want to make porn for women then make it for women and see how many of them buy it. I hope this isn’t a season long storyline. Also the stripper who called herself a feminist lol.

This is not really a complaint, I get that hbo wants the show to be appealing to both male and female audiences, but i really just don’t care that much about feminism in the porn and sex worker industry

No Whammies!!
42nd street was the Disney Land of perverts. :wow:
"Theme Park" was the first thing I thought of.

another thing about this show. I dunno how they do it, but the special effects on here are :mindblown: how they are able to make modern NYC look run down and raggedy like the 70's.
Seeing the old blue police cars made me feel strangely:mjcry:
