Yep, up to 40% of the enslaved Africans were Muslims and most probably already knew about Christianity to varying degrees. They didn't really teach us anything except for their own preselected version of the Bible to keep us in line.

That's why they didn't want us to read. Blacks that knew how to read, could read the whole Bible (and anything else) and teach other Blacks about the lies and omissions from the enslavers.
