I don't disagree with Melo being an underachiever (who chose the bag over rings, but that's another story). But he's hardly going to sneak into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The barrier of entry is the lowest among all pro sports. He's easily a HOFerwhy would it have Anthony on the back? stop trying to give the biggest underachiever in NBA history pity awards he's already gonna sneak into the hall of fame
Knicks (#15) and Blazers (#30) have retired the same jersey numbers twice played by different players in two different eras. Portland allegedly thought about retiring Rasheed Wallace's #30 which would've made it 3 players retired under the same number.y'all are just retarded. this is as dumb as that thread where dudes were saying Jamal Crawford is a HOFer.
The nuggets are never gonna retire Carmelo's jersey, u morons
I mean he’s probably their second most notable player ever. Idk why they would either, but it always felt they owed Chris more than what they gave himWhy would they do that
Melo is an all time great, a future HoF & he’s on the NBA Top 75 players of all time. You nikkas can not be serious with this shyt acting like he didn’t do any or is worthy. Trae isn’t even his 10th year yet. If he leaves Atlanta today he doesn’t deserve to have his number retired cause he hasn’t did shyt
There are numbers retired around the league for guys who didn’t get half of that.
Nuggets Melo was a three time all-star
The vast majority of his greatness was in NY not Denver .
Ray Allen's jersey will be retired by the sonics when they eventually return. Melo will be retired by the Knicks.Jokic >>>>> Melo. Jokic brought a title to Denver and is just plain better than Melo.
Giannis took Ray Allen's Bucks' Jersey number too and I guarantee you it will be retired under Giannis name for the exact reason Nuggets #15 will be under Jokic.
I wouldn't expect them to be on good terms cuz he forced his way up outta there before the end of the season when he was gonna be a free agent anyways.Knicks retired the same number(15, interestingly enough)for Earl Monroe and dikk McGuire, so it's not like it is without precedent.
To be fair, it doesn't sound like the Nuggets and Melo are on great terms, they immediately issued out #15 after he left.
lol at the idea of Jokic having to share a jersey retirement in Denver down the line - guy will have multiple MVPs, likely multiple titles and considered of the GOATs to ever play the game
