Lol.
I don't have to listen to people on YouTube to know microtransactions are ass
Not saying microtransactions are good. They have a huge market.
EA's revenue is damn near mostly coming from microtranactions...ya'll want them to stop making money?
EA has made billions from microtransactions in the past year, the company announces in its latest earnings release.

I've spent a lot of my childhood in the 90s playing games on a pc when it was seen as a nerd thing to do.
You mean when we were going to arcades and had to buy 4 controllers and drag our system and all our games to play with our friends?
I'm 30+, too, brehs, times have changed
The video game industry almost crashed out in those times
Streamlining, monetizing (lol at monotizing) everything and casualizing gaming is the worst thing that happened to it.
And also made gaming the biggest entertainment market on the planet
I know economics,I know capitalism and I know greed.
If you do anything with money as a sole goal you're going to end up with soulless games that create problems on purpose to make you pay money for solutions. It's stupid.
Souless games...that make billions
Again, I'm not saying any of this stuff is good, but, unfortunately you didn't bring up the fact people want this and say so with their money
It's easy to speak to the "Greed" of "evil" corporations and how "endless monotization" is "casualizing" gaming. But, If I gave you 30 mins with a gamin executive, you gonna tell him his billiosn for his shareholders is too much?
Moreover in the same post I said at least make it free to play if you gonna monetize everything. That's a model of many games nowadays with p2w, gatcha and micros. Madden still charges full price every year.
Rather than this being the case of some trend overcoming another anomaly, or vice versa, I think the truth is a story that both combine to tell: Madden NFL 21 is a piecemeal update lacking a centerpiece mode, and it sells like gangbusters because it pleases its fans.
It’s possible that good enough is, in fact, good enough

Breh, I get it, I fukking hate 2k. But, I'm also not under some illusion some "gaming utopia" is on the way.
I just play a couple of hours of the bullshyt, then go back to my backlog and older games.
This is gaming, now
