What hits did Gay Ass Dre actually produce?
He didn't produce "Still D.R.E." "What's My Name" or "Gin and Juice" wtf did he really produce during that time![]()
Duke is a blantent hater.
Dre made plenty beats by himself and the proof is when you look at Eminems production. Notice how it sounds exactly like Dre's signature stuff. That couldnt have come from all ghost producers.
Dre knows his style; he pretty much made another Dre when you listen to Eminem's beats.
I think its pretty clear that what Dre does, at most, is mixing. Other producer'll do the work but then he'll take it to a bigger studio, add in
a certain structure, lay a hook he sees fit or whatever. So basically he's a producer and not a beatmaker.
But back to my first point - mixing.
Take this song:
Produced by Gotti & Lil' Rob, but still sounds like a Dre beat from that year (1999), esp the mixing & how the bass sounds.
smh. no.
Dre mixes, but Dre is a beat maker as well and a beat-finisher. He has gained OG status and takes on the tracks of young dudes and puts his finesse (which is what OG's are supposed to do).
um, where is the link?![]()
This is from an interview on AllHipHop.com back in the day. Remember reading this
Google Chris “The Glove” Taylor and All Hip Hop and it should pop up.
And he has been accused of these things since the Death Row days, was he "OG status" then too?
yes
he already had World Class Wreckin Cru & NWA/Ruthless's discography under his belt BEFORE Death Row.
People forget Dre was almost 30 when Death Row started
I know that but i dont know about no OG. Wreckin Cru wasnt even hip-hop, it was electro music fusioned with some rap. And 2 NWA albums.
Regardless tho you're argument is vague if its based on what you saw in Eminem's production. I can still be influenced by, say, a Premo beat even if he never really did the beat, get it? It's still a very vague argument to use to prove that Dre fully did those beats.
You can argue me, but you cant argue countless of people saying it either. Im not even saying its 100% true, i just said it would make sense & it feels like it has some truth to it.
These haters stay trying to discredit the GOAT. But his track record can't be disputed.
you clearly dont know wtf you talking about.
"2 NWA albums" ?

No One Can Do It Better went plat and is a Hip-Hop classic fully produced by Dr. Dre
Michele went Gold 5 weeks after her album dropped not to mention her gold selling singles all produced by Dr. Dre
this is away from the NWA/Eazy E solo stuff that went multi plat
Dr. Dre was a certified hit maker at this point. He even did Deep Cover in the in-between of Ruthless/Death Row
DJ Yella "Me & Dre produced EVERYTHING on Ruthless too"
Yella hasnt been shyt post Dre. Dre went on to become to much of a legend with Death Row; you forget he was in the game for almost 10 years BEFORE Death Row.
Dre was a certified music OG in '92 before The Chronic. Find me someone that questioned the era when Dre was putting in the ground work and I will believe you. Otherwise you are listening to be bunch of bitter understudies.
