Ed only does 5 star threads... Jesus Christ
Yeah Batman's villains are what sorta gives them the edge. A regular comic book hero has 1 maybe 2 iconic villians. Batman has like 5.Its really just Batman's rogue gallery, Luthor, and Darkseid. Maybe you could throw in Zod but everyone else is B tier. The villains Batman has is really what stacks the deck.
BRANIAC is definitely A TIER.Its really just Batman's rogue gallery, Luthor, and Darkseid. Maybe you could throw in Zod but everyone else is B tier. The villains Batman has is really what stacks the deck.
BRANIAC is definitely A TIER.
outside of batman's scope there is:
BRANIAC
vandal savage
Deathstroke
grodd
REVERSE FLASH [don't sleep]
black adam
those aren't be listers.
Well to be fair, Spider-Man's villians are the only ones that come to mind as more than memorable...Yeah Batman's villains are what sorta gives them the edge. A regular comc book hero has 1 maybe 2 iconic villians. Batman has like 5.
By that measurement Dr. Doom would probably be tossed in the B-list pile too.If the average person introduced to comic material has no idea who they are then im throwing them in B tier. People know the word brainiac but they couldnt tell you what he looks like or even that the term refers to a comic villain. Black Adam? Come on. Hell, ive never even heard of Vandal Savage. Deathstroke, i could go either way on. Teen Titans is a pretty popular cartoon so maybe he would be at B+.
There are very few actual iconic villains out there, and Batman has a bunch.
well the ROCK is playing black adam in the Shazam! movie, so that alone makes him A-lister, period. If the average person introduced to comic material has no idea who they are then im throwing them in B tier. Such a fukking cop-out. His turn was shocking and that's why it worked. There's no way he should've ever been accepted back into the superhero fold, either by the public or fellow heroes. That was so lame... and Kyle Rayner was my boy. Now they don't do shyt with him.If they didn't bytch out, Hal Jordan Parallax might have been the GOAT heel turn and forever A-lister.
Wizard was guilty of MANY crimes against common sense... but, they got me every monthI remember Wizard magazine put out a best villains special issue back in the '90s. Carnage made the cover.
I feel like Marvel has a million more villains, but they are mostly B, C and D-listers rooted in the corny '60s & '70s. Stuff like Dark Avengers/X-Men and Thunderbolts prove they can be enjoyable but still they aren't major players. I like Marvel, but I prefer DC characters overall, villain or hero.
Marvel has some great ones though: Bullseye, Apocalypse, Mister Sinister, Magneto, Green Goblin, Red Skull, Namor (if you want to count him as one... would love to see him go to war with the surface world again), Venom (well, he USED to be) and Doctor Doom.
Whatever happened to the Hood? Thought he was kinda interesting and it seemed like they were building him up to be someone powerful.I think DC has the better villains in terms of characterization. Like pound for pound. But the dope ones that marvel has are very very dope.
Well to be fair, Spider-Man's villians are the only ones that come to mind as more than memorable...
Doc Ock
Green Goblin
Venom
Rhino
Kraven The Hunter
Kingpin (yeah, originally his)
Electro
There's probably others I haven't mentioned but those guys are definitely top flight bad guys.
Even his B level villians are dope.
