Lot of shyt in this movie I let slide (even everything surrounding the silly bomb plot) but couple of things I just wave the bullshyt flag on.

1. Batman's back being fixed wit a miracle rope and total recovery in couple of months :comeon:
2. Every cop in Gotham running into the underground to be killed on some CHARRRGGEE! shyt
3. It's 2012 and Batman still fighting groups of dudes that only attack him one by one...even the Joker got a hit in TDK
4. Bane's army of cold-blooded killer criminals wit fully automatic rifles beaten by tired, hungry and unarmed cops on some CHAARRRGGEE! shyt :heh:

do you know whut a PLOTHOLE IS???
it means a hole in the entire PLOT of telling the film... whut u are saying are merely nitpick personal gripes u had.
a TRUE plot hole which is the only one in the film is the fact that MIRANDA TATE (pretending to be captured) seeing bruce wayne prior to BANE realizing batman was back in gotham, and she even KNEW bruce wayne plan to get back into action... and DID NOT PREWARN bane prior... that's a plot hole..
none of whut u stated were "plot holes"

i was just goin off the basis others were usin but youre right... besides i said nitpick in my first sentence anyway....

Those nikkas had rifles and fully loaded Batmobiles, yet these police officers with hand guns and knife sticks were able to charge at them and match them in battle.:russ:

Is it normal for Nolan's Batman films to be shot in half letterbox and half fullscreen?

Like one min the screen is letterboxed, then the very next scene it's fullscreen

I have Bluray rips of Batman Begins, Dark Knight, and Darknight Rises and all 3 films have this

:dwillhuh:

It's because 2:35:1 (or actually 2:39:1) feels different then 1:85:1 which is what people would consider "normal."

The Bond movies were shot in 2:39:1 so you can focus on exactly what the director wants you to focus on... it "feels" different, that's all it is...

Just like Speilberg used to shoot a lot in 2:39:1 to get you to focus on things as opposed to 1:85:1 where he shot Jurassic Park in because the dinosaurs were too tall to frame properly in 2:39:1...

It's just how things "feel"... most directors believe 2:39:1 feels more Epic... and keeps the crowd drawn in more as opposed to 1:85:1 which most music videos are shot in.

Watch Iron Man 1 & then watch 2... shot in completely different Aspect Ratios & they also feel different... outside of the story there is a reason people like 1 better then 2 & don't even realize it...

It's crazy you mention that cuz I think Cameron had a change of heart *AFTER* he had already shot it...

wtf is the difference? I just dont want to see fukking black bars when i watch a movie.

2.35/39/40:1 is more intimate & keeps your attention focused on ONLY what's intended to be seen as opposed to 1.85:1 which is usually meant for a lot of action movies where height is important (War Of The Worlds)...

It's psychology on how people react to aesthetics...

Aspect Ratios & Frame Rates have a psychological effect on people... as well as different lens types. There's a reason 75% of all movies are shot at 50mm because that's what the eye relates to as a "normal" perspective. There's a scene in Iron Man 2 where the perspective is from Tony Starks eyes & it's shot with a 24mm lens... watch it & see how it "feels"... you nearly feel like you're in the room and feel the rush as if they're your eyes. Then the next scene he's outside & its back to 50mm & you "feel" as though you're watching a movie again.

If football games & basketball games were shot at 24 frames per second they would be less dramatic because our brains are used to the eyes associating that framerate with something that we perceive as "fake" aka movies, tv, etc...

Download a football game off the internet or DVR, convert it to 24fps & thro a widescreen on it... it'll blow your mind...

You know why TDKR feels more epic then The Avengers?

Next time you watch them... watch them back to back... and see which one is in 2.35 & which one is 1.85...

There's a reason people say Nolan's Batman films are more "realistic" then The Avengers... :youngsabo:
