The guy was basically coming off a loss. That's the only thing I hate about our generation. Everything is microwaved. Not every fight is a huge career defining fight. It wasn't like that before and it shouldn't be like that now.

Champions fight tune ups after fighting already in 3 times since September 2013?

He has 4 fights within the last year...what does he need a tune up for? His last 3 opponents have been Zab Judah, Mauricio Herrera, and Rod Salka....not exactly Murderers Row.

His resume answers most questions. That's what I meant. People act like a his whole resume doesn't exist now. It's crazy to me. As far as the new guns go. He has the best resume by far. Whoever is second on that list isn't close.

He heavily struggled with Theophane and with Herrera.

He has not shown that he can beat a pure "boxer" convincingly yet....a guy in the mold of like even fukking Chris Algieri.

A tune-up for Garcia is fine...an entire parade of tune-ups for Haymon managed fighters over the next month is a problem and that is what everyone has an issue with.

Tomato can or not, Swift looked good tonight. Really though, Salka had no business being in there. That last shot he took had me second guessing both the ref's judgment and his corner's. He took 9.5 seconds on both of those 10 counts. That last shot could have fukked around and killed him.

On another note, I got a kick out of both Broner and Peterson sayin, "this is a business." Al Haymon got these n!ggas speaking the same language. I was surprised at Garcia saying, "Peterson could get it too." Can't remember, but did Danny also say, "this is a business"? Haymon's right hand man was right there taking it all in like Garcia better not fukk up with the verbiage lest he becomes a Jadakiss punchline.


Tonight was ok, but I'm really looking forward to next Saturday. Send that tea and crumpets eating mofo back to his majesty. Porter let's get it!

Demaraco is not a pressure fighter. AB has an L against Maidana, and got a borderline gift against Ponce. That doesn't mean he's not capable, it just means it didn't happen on that night.

Because he just took an L against Herrera.

The same way after AB took his L against Maidana @147, in his next fight he took on an unranked tuneup in Molina @140, or did that not happen?

overall- when the card was announced, i wasn't sure how much i was interested but i enjoyed these fights. happy for danny jacobs to get a title regardless of all the "titles" out there. that brother overcame a lot so props to him and his family- cool to see his son with him. his girl not bad either lol

as far as peterson- he really didn't show me nothing different- i mean santana obviously was there only in name, but peterson is an inside fighter at heart- i'm not really impressed with him. he is a good fighter though- i think he lost to amir khan still but the refs helped him in that one. everytime i watch him fight, i can only think of how lucas had this nikka sitting on his arms after he dropped him. i don't even really care if he fight swift honestly, i wanna see him avenge that L but i don't think he can beat lucas honestly.

swift did his thing and was a lot sharper like paulie said, but he had no choice- he lost that last fight to me vs herrera. i kinda wanted to see salka put up a fight but swift had murderous intentions all night. we always had a saying that arrogant nikkas get touched, so it was funny to see salka get stretched as soon as he was feeling good about himself- like right after his 1st good exchange.

i would honestly like to see swift fight herrera again but i can see if he doesn't. these fighters be so protected by haymon if they look off in any fight he just moving them away from it.

i can't understand all these tune-ups when dudes ain't had extended layoffs. that's like the heat beating san an in 2013, san an probably wanted miami for all 82 games the next year. if you take a L, chill for a sec with the fam, then get back at that dude who got you. i can respect broner for wanting to rematch maidana.
