You actually right Amish never lived in slave legal states before the civil war ,but believed slavery was wrong some renounced there faith and joined the union.Mennonites and Quakers arrived earlier and faced tough decisions on faith and slavery though some Mennonites arrived as indentured servants. I'm not saying I would go hug a Amish or chill in they town ,but I think there protest come from a legit space.
