Meh, I dunno about that one Smoltz.
Not sure Arrieta turning his head and hiding the ball for a split second makes that much of a difference.

Smoltz got 15 silver slugger awards:troll:
I mean I know he's super smart about pitching, but hiding the ball like that behind his head doesn't change Arrieta's release point.

I guess it makes it a little unusual for the batter to track the ball.
But even if it's annoying for a hitter, that's not gonna turn Arrieta from the 6-ERA pitcher he was in Baltimore to the 1.77 ERA pitcher he was last year in Chicago.
Frankly there are rumors Arrieta's on the juice...but he insists his turn around is from yoga.

Goodness, i know hitters today like to elevate more than in the past, but the location of Rizzo's hands are pretty low for such a big guy.
A guy like Mariano Rivera would eat him alive with cutters.

Can't believe he walked Rizzo.

If you didn't want the curveball 3-2 all the other times, why the hell would you throw it after all those fastballs?
Should have gone heater away.

That's on McAlister.
He threw like 8 or 9 fastballs inside to Rizzo and Zobrist knew it was coming to him too
