Even after renovations the Skydome can hold 55K for concerts if the staging is minimal. They didn't have a grandiose setup for 'Elimination Chamber' from what I recall. The setup used by WrestleTix and the like is always based on what sections are currently available. Once everything appears to be sold then they start opening up new sections. There's no telling what they expected but whatever it was, Ari was not happy with the number, he called The Rock and it got the ball rolling.
Sure. The point is that people making fun of Rock doing Hulktales about getting the call might be jumping the gun a bit because 1) tickets had been stagnant for 2 months and 2) after he showed up, they sold like 12k in 10 days so he did help out. The timeline does play in Rock's favor, getting a call from Ari sound believable to me.

Considering they sold less than 25k in the first advance, I highly doubt they expected a real sellout of the building. But 2 months of practically no movement and with only 2 weeks to go, I can picture Ari asking for a favor.

No doubt, We're in complete agreement. I believe The Rock 100% on that. The part I'm not convinced on is The Rock "stepping away" to make the focus on Cody/Cena because it sounds more to me by his other comments that he had an idea that was shot down and he just said "aight bet" and let them do whatever. The end result was a mess

Yup. Rock probably was like "so y'all call me to help you draw, we draw...but y'all don't wanna go with my ideas? :camby: good luck then".

It's annoying as fukk because we finally had Stone GOAT at Mania. We could've had an interaction :mjcry:

You could tell they had no plan after The Rock balked at whatever was pitched because they went several weeks without even mentioning him. The first few weeks was all about Cena shytting on the fans in some weak "YOU PEOPLE!" promos, generic BS... he had some good lines here and there but it was so forced. The one segment that tried to tie this back to The Rock and Cody/Cena on a personal level was the worked/shoot promo they did in the ring together once they got back in the states.

There was no connective tissue between 'Elimination Chamber' and 'WrestleMania' which is astounding to me...

It's more interesting to me that HHH decided to not mention The Rock when he could've just "yada yada"'d his absence in Week 1 after the turn. He could've been as dismissive and passive aggressive as he wanted to....if he didn't do it, that tells me that he didn't want to burn the bridge and that everyone at WWE was still hoping/waiting for Rock to comeback for 1-2 more dates.

Just a bad move the La Nariz, imo. Even if the fans are mad at Rock right now, he can always get them back as soon as he gets a mic on his hand and hears some boos, that's just what he does.

Rock has always been the smartest person in wrestling. He probably read the room and saw that he was being treated like an outsider and bounced. There's already jealousy when it comes to Rock, so imagine the feeling when he's called in because the head of creative and champ can't move tickets.
