So in this same context, does this apply to wrestlers of other demographics? Dragon Lee ain't settin' the world on fire, nor has Santos Escobar, and Andrade is just doing OK I guess... does that have ANYTHING to do with PENTA? Black wrestlers are not monolithic, just like anyone else of any other race/nationality/gender are not... Oba Femi in NXT alone is far more charismatic and interesting than say, Apollo Crews or Omos have ever been on the main roster- why would we automatically believe his trajectory would be the same as theirs without actually seeing what happens?
We have MVP a working wrestler in a different company warning people every couple months that Hunter is a racist, so it's a bit different there. Then there's his
problematic feud with Booker T. If a black wrestler gets super over on their own, I doubt Hunter will actively sabotage them. Although, looking at LA Knight who got mega over, he also won't capitalize on them unless they're in his plans.
Whether Hunter will put singles black wrestlers in a position where they can get over with the crowd is to be determined.
Like there's something there with Theory but he's never been given any opportunities by Hunter. But when he had that triple threat in NXT with Oba, HBK advanced the A-Town Down Under break up and made them interesting, all for Hunter to forget that ever happened.
