Movie was really good. I went to Screening and it was a classic in my opinion. It didnt have any gore or grousome seens but it scared the heck out of everyone in the theatre. A must see if you like horror flicks.

Good horror movie. Saw it last night.

Unfortunately the end did get some unintentional laughter from the audience right as the demon was leaving the mother and fer face was all stretched out and crying. Kind of took me out of the movie, but other than that it was very good.

I also thought there was going to be a follow up on the Warren's daughter appearing underwater, drowned. Did I miss something or did they just never follow up on that?

Yeah it was just a premonition that their daughter was in danger, which turned out to be true.

What I didn't get is
why the dog had to get murked the first night when lil homie didn't even go in the house. The demon had plenty of chances to kill various family members but it was always just a scare...but it has the power to kill a dog? I feel like that was just kind of a cheap device to establish the threat/fear of possible death for the rest of the characters early, since no one else actually dies throughout the entire thing.

I agree, and I didn't even think about that until after the movie. I kind of forgot about the dog once the scares got heavy. I can't lie I was stressed almost the whole movie. It wasn't so much the scares but the tension. I felt like the tension was always there and there were never any fake JUMP scares where a cat or something jumps out. It was always something bad banging in the night. I was genuinely relieved when it was over. I wish they had developed some of the characters a little bit more, but oh well. Solid 4/5 for a summer horror movie.
