You know when people say they don't make them like they used to? This truly is a case of not making them like this anymore. I remember having no interest in this flick when it first dropped but my best friend at the time had it on video and put it on one day and I fell in love with the shyt.

Just a great story about growing up, finding your extended family, and bonding all over something simple.

my most vivid memory of this film is that my 3rd (I think) grade teacher made us sign a permission slip to watch the flick cause it had like one or two utters of shyt in it. Despite the fact more than half the class watched it on TV/HBO/tape/etc already

Classic flick in every sense of the word. Probably best sports kids coming of age flick as well.
