There were about 4 times I thought I would not graduate (at least not from the same school anyways, was gettin fed up for various reasons).

4 years is a long time and it takes dedication and commitment, but most of all interest (in the beginning anyways). However, oddly enough towards the end once I stopped asking questions in class, just did what the teacher wanted and completely lost interest and started focusing on my job search after graduation my grades improved. Go figure.

I only failed 2 classes my whole 4 years and got maybe 2 D's but that was enough to sink my shyt to a 2.5. I got all A's in my cores and B's in the peripheral classes. A lot of professors are racist and don't care how many tutors you goto or how much effort you put in the class. I graduated a semester late thanks to these issues and the guidance counselor wasn't much help at all. She gave terrible life advice in retrospect, the only people I really have to thank for being able to finish are my parents and grandparents. That's about it.

The male brain is not finished maturing until about 25. College in many ways is like High School part 2. This is why I don't advocate getting your MBA right after BA/BS (aside from the fact it's useless until you're at least 35 in the job market and at a senior level position) because your brain really isn't even at it's maximum potential yet even at 21.

Good luck to all Brothers struggling through. It's not the end of the world if you don't finish. Unfortunately real life isn't perfect and we can't all make it at the same time. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, focus on side business ideas to keep you afloat in this rapidly changing economy.

I can, but it's going to fukk me up moving forward.

Had an interview lined up this Thursday for a job that I might have to reject now :snoop:

More money that I have to pay the school, and believe me, I've paid more than enough for this shyt already :aicmon:

The class I need to retake is currently full with a fairly long waiting list. They're only offering one, so there's no other slots I can sign up for :beli:

African parents that are going to be on my ass about it :francis:

My school had a policy that if your last semester is coming up to email professors instructing the class to allow you in so that you could graduate on time. You should definitely try and email the professor.

As for the job, I would go in and still interview.

Brehs :mjcry:

I got that phone call. When I graduate next year I will have a six figure job waiting for me in New York City.

My mom was a teen parent who didn't go to Yale and gave up on her dreams to have my sister :mjcry:

I'm finally happy :jawalrus:

What was your major and where did you go?

When should students start applying for jobs?

Your junior year. At latest the start of your senior year.

It takes months for people to get back to you anyway.

Congrats to the breh who landed the nice paying job in NYC. We need more of us in the field.

Pretty soon you'll be able to afford that NYC rent :mjlol:

:sadcam: I'm confused because the jobs on indeed.com and monster are for current listings. I'm in my jr. year should I still apply to those jobs?

I wouldn't...until graduation was more imminent.

But a lot of companies have some kind of executive training programs that they love to put recent graduates in. You can start applying to those right now.

Of course. What's the worst they going to do to you, say no?

I didn't get my current job until six months after applying, and it says you need a degree to get it. I don't have my degree (yet), but I've been actively working towards it and the manager liked me enough to bring me on.

You gotta put yourself out there breh.

EDIT: To gonzo's point too, there are many programs out there that love to bring fresh grads in. But applying now and getting your feet wet doesn't hurt.
