I did. When I got interviewed, they were asking about my work experience in the field as well. So its not just grades with some grad schoolcan I get into any colleges for a masters degree with a 2.78 gpa?

My suggestion is to ask for help asap from your professor.
More than often they are willing to give you more time and/or work with you---especially given the current circumstances. E-mail and ask for a meeting, tell them where you are stuck or what you are having a hard time with, but also propose a way forward.
Start classes on Monday. All my classes are a hybrid model where tests are in person but lectures are all recorded and you can view them online if you want but up to 30 students are allowed to attend in person if they choose. I commute to campus so I don't know what I'm going to do in between classes Usually like to hang out in the student union or in the Library getting some work done if I have it but in the age of covid I don't know if I should be unnecessarily be inside with all those strangers for hours at a time
Yeah now imagine daily conference calls where 70% of the participants are ESLZoom classes with Professors who don't speak English as a first language is not the move
